Room 207, the corner room with a king bed has large windows on the back wall with a view of the lake, and more windows on the right wall with a view of Artist's Point. On entering the room we were immediately rewarded with the sound of waves gently washing on the gravel beach below. We stayed for 2 nights,... More

A wonderful opportunity being squandered by a great facility being allowed to move toward run-down. Huge possibilities exist, but we found carpet needed replacing, at the least really well cleaned, mattresses changed and more room than 4 inches on either side of the pedestal sink. While the people were friendly, there was a 'local preferred' flavor to the brief exchanges.... More

I admit we rolled into town without a reservation and tried other Trip Advisor listings first but everything was sold out. Tired and ready to stop we took our chances on The Shoreline Inn. Yes, it is outdated and a little rough around the edges but as long as a place is clean we can manage. The woman at the... More

The Inn was at waters edge (literally) with a nice/comfortable waters edge patio--with small, but clean/comfortable room with some facing Lake Superior. The price was very reasonable (supposedly discounted due to Mn. State Fair competition). Located right next to available tourist shopping as well. The location beats the B&B's located inland.

You know what they say: location, location, location. The Shoreline Inn definitely has that covered. Their patio (and some rooms) offers a spectacular view of Lake Superior. And that's the height of your stay here. Everything else is sub-par. The exterior is drab. The lobby and common areas are in dire need of updating. The rooms are right out of... More

Due to the cost and location we expected an amazing experience at the hotel. Wrong! It was bad from the moment we walked in the parking lot scattered with seagull feathers. It only got worse when we walked inside. The woman receptionist obviously had never been trained in public relations. She loudly announced personal information that didnt need to be... More

We went on a weekend in the summer and this was the only place we could find that didn't require a two night minimum. Upon checking in, the front clerk couldn't care less about us and said our room wasn't ready yet, even though it was after 3. Not a problem since we went out on the deck to gaze... More

As another post states, Watch out for the "Bait and Switch tactic" being used by this company. This is clearly deceptive advertising and will be reported beyond this posting. I went online and looked up http://gmhotel.net/properties/cobblestone-cove-villas Then again clearly chose Cobblestone-cove villas on the next list that pop's up. When you do a video tour they show you the Cobblestone-cove... More

This hotel is old. It's nice enough but super rough around the edges and everywhere else. Clean, so that's good. But linens are old (soft, though!), carpet is worn, windows are rickety and probably not even safe. BUT it's directly on the lake, the staff is nice and the place has free wifi. So, for one night I can handle... More

While this hotel is right on the water, the sea gulls make you wish it wasn't. They are more like barking dogs that won't stop in the morning. Our room didn't even face the water, the bird noise may have been worse if we had. Teh room had a double bed and also a twin bed. Odd arrangement. The hotel... More
