My guy and I had a superb weekend at Cross River Lodge mid March! Doug was great company and so was his dog Roxie! The lodge has been beautifully constructed and we loved every bit of it! Thank you for the great hospitality and comfortable atmosphere...we hope to visit again! Denise and Corey

We spent a month at Cross River Lodge last summer (2011) and stayed in one of the cabins. It was no doubt the best vacation of our lives! We're going again this summer (2012) and are counting the days. John, Rose, Paula, and Doug are fantastic hosts. It wasn't long before we thought of them as family. My husband loves... More

Really beautiful and friendly place with the best continental breakfast we ever had! We stayed in a very clean two bedroom cottage/effiency with pot bellied stove and deck overlooking quiet lake. Offered many free activities to guest: paddle boats, canoe etc. beautiful lodge for guests to visit/watch tv/read. The owners/hosts were fabulous!

My husband and I have stayed at Cross River Lodge for the past 2 years as a comfortable, relaxing retreat after several days of backpacking the BWCA. Doug and Paula have always made our stay a memorable one. This last year, our backpacking trip was cut short a day because of a series of follies on the trail; they were... More

It’s truly a testament to the superb customer service and beautiful accommodations we received that I am taking the time to write this now! John, Rose, Paula and Doug are... More

Talk about CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I had to cut my summer trip short from Cross River Lodge due to a phone call from my wife, about her mother suddenly passing away. The night I had to leave the lodge we were about to sit down to some incredible bar-b-q ribs when I got the call, John and Rose packed a to-go... More

My wife and I stayed in the Cross River Suite for our first anniversary the 2nd week of October. It was an all around awesome experience and a wonderful place to truly "get away from it all." We enjoyed multiple meals at the very underrated Bistro at the Gunflint Lodge. The wAlleye quesadillas, wAlleye sandwich, walleye chowder, and buff chic... More

Cross River Lodge is a beautiful small quiet place to stay. You couldn't ask for more friendlier or gracious hosts, John and Rose! Plenty to do, but also a wonderful place... More
