This hotel is so special and we were pleasantly surprised at every turn. My husband and I were in Minneapolis for a wedding and decided to extend our trip and explore the beautiful Lake Superior area and we stumbled across the Naniboujou Lodge. We thought it looked a bit old and in need of updates, but were drawn to the... More

We recently stayed five nights at the Naniboujou Lodge as part of a Road Scholar program. The dining room is known for its colorful Cree painted ceiling with a large stone fireplace at one end. Meals are delicious and nutritious. The lodge does not have internet access, cell phones do not work, and there are no TVs. The environment is... More

If you're ever close to Naniboujou, you'd be a fool to not go. It's one of the most unique places in Minnesota. The location is gorgeous and the inside (especially main dining hall) is even better. The food is great and the staff are very friendly. I can't say enough good things about Naniboujou.

This was our 6th visit for the Sunday Brunch over 15 yrs. The food is prepared to perfection! This is the best Sunday Brunch we have ever enjoyed. That includes the Broadmoor in Colo. Springs. Each item of their buffet is amazingly tasty. The dining room is full of charm with the vivid colors. Highly memorable dining experience! FYI we... More

I had this on my bucket list and was finally able to check it off. Wonderful food in an amazing location. Definitely worth the drive. The service was excellent and the food well prepared. Met all expectations . We so enjoyed our evening at Naniboujou.

You don't get to the lodge by accident - it is way up there near the border with Canada but worth the trip. Rooms a little small but appear to be recently renovated, and very clean. open the windows and hear the surf of Lake Superior. The dining room is a showpiece - like a miniature version of the ballroom... More

I have probably stayed at Naniboujou at least 5 times in the past 15 years - even though I live far from Minnesota. There is an ambience to this Lodge that keeps drawing me back - even though the rooms are just barely adequate - small, a bit stark, and lacking any sense of luxury - think bare bones accommodation.... After a beautiful drive up the coast of Minnesota, we stayed at Naniboujou Lodge. We loved this place. It is very quiet and relaxing - no phones or tvs. The rooms are very clean and decorated very nice. The rooms are on the small side, again this lodge was built in the 1920's, but we are fine with a small... More

A group of us women [around 20+] from our walking/kayaking(spring)/snowshoeing{winter} group made reservations for a short outing to Lake Superior and a couple of overnights at Naniboujou Lodge. The dining area is beautiful and the breakfasts were good. We gathered in the sitting area after supper & enjoyed each others company after dark. We had a bond fire one night... More

My husband and I spent one night here and wished it could have been more! Built in 1929, the lodge is filled with character inside and out! Diane was wonderful and informative as she checked us in. Our room was small but comfortable with a lovely wood burning fireplace ready to be lit! Its just steps to the shore of... More
