Located right on the shore of Lake Superior, the lodge was once a 1920's private club that did not survive the stock market crash or the great depression. Naniboujou has been restored to recapture the ultra-exclusive private-club feel with a dose of whimsy in the Great Hall. We stayed in Room 12, a lake view room on the second floor.... More

We were very excited to come here but were soon disappointed in everything except the beautiful restoration which has been done throughout. First disappointment: no liquor license, so no wine with the lovely entrees on the menu--so we had burgers (which were delicious). Disappointment #2: all books in the shelf for guests to borrow were religious books. #3: orchestrated hymns... More

Return visit and always find the historic decorations amazing.. We just ate lunch and soup and sandwich were delicious and service was excellent. The place is sparkling clean and a east for eyes and mouth combined. We just wish they served wine or beer as they would be such a tasty addition to the menu.

First of all - understand that there are NO phones, NO tv, NO cell phone coverage, NO internet. What there IS is a wonderful, beautiful, quiet little lodge in an amazing location, with an incredible dining room, and a staff that treats you like long-lost friends. If you like to hike or paddle your canoe, there are endless places in... More

We love Naniboujou, from its historic dining room to it's quirky but nice rooms to the outstanding meals in the dining room in front of the biggest stone fireplace in Minnesota. But, the thing that brings us back every year is the staff of folks that work here. You simply will not find a nicer family and nicer people working... More

I stayed here with my husband over Valentine's weekend and we really enjoyed our stay. The lodge is cozy and beautiful. The staff were all so kind. We went skiing on Saturday in Lutsen so we wanted to be on the road by 8:00 am which meant we wouldn't be able to eat breakfast before we left, but the staff... More

My husband and I go to the Naniboujou Lodge every year in the winter. We love the "all-inclusive" type stay in the winter season. The rooms are always clean and quiet. They are smaller than traditional hotel rooms but that's okay, we love the ambiance here. We love that we can disconnect with no tvs, wifi, or cell service. The... More

We are on our way back from another incredible weekend at Naniboujou. The food was a 10 out of 10. I've seen references where people say the food is expensive, but do keep in mind that in the winter it's a set meal, and price, which includes EVERYTHING! Soup or salad, rolls, main dish with a number of sides, coffee... More

Without a doubt, Naniboujou Lodge is an unbelievable place to stay. The natural vistas surrounding the place, the beauty of the lodge, the quality of the food all amount to one of the most memorable stays you will ever have. I will note that the food costs an inordinately large amount of money, but this is somewhat offset by the... More

We stopped by for afternoon tea on a rainy fall day. It was a bit pricey but it was fun and a bit of special during out trip to hike & enjoy the fall colors. The ceiling of the restaurant & the fireplace are both really special. I'm glad we stopped.
