Stayed here with friends for a few days after being several other places over the last week. This was perfect. Trails were well-groomed, snow was relatively abundant (at least compared to elsewhere), lodge hospitality was appreciated. Wouldn't change a thing, except maybe stay here longer. Get the chili after skiing, and plan to be full. It's a lot of chili... More

Ohhhh did we ever need a vacation. My husband and I had originally booked for September but the vacation was railroaded by car trouble of the worst kind. The kind people at Bearskin graciously let us reschedule for this trip. We were in cabin 8, which was fortuitous as it was just a short trip to the sauna, the lodge... More

We just got home from 4 nights at Bearskin. They were the only place with decent snow, and the trails are wonderful. The team at Bearskin, along with Golden Eagle, spend a lot of time making sure everything is groomed to perfection. We lucked out with snow the final night, so had fresh conditions for our last day of skiing... More

I have been to Bearskin Lodge in all seasons since 1983. Each Thanksgiving since 1988 has been spent there. It is a special place to paddle into the Boundary Waters, to sit in the hot tub haus after paddling or skiing, to ski and hike, and to relax. The cabins and lodge rooms are each beautiful, warm and private. There... More

Second time on the Gunflint and first time at Bearskin. What a fabulous weekend. The cabin was awesome. Terrific view of the lake. We hiked the Beaver Dam trail on our first day -- 9 miles of beautiful views and then the Bear Cub World Cup on the second day -- 5 miles. It snowed just enough for us to... More

Bearskin Lodge is a family run business nestled in a pine and birch forest along the bay waters of E. Bearskin Lake, 6 miles from the Canadian Border and on the edges of the BWCA. It's located right off the Gunflint Trail, a well-paved single lane road that winds up to the Lodge through a heavily wooded Superior National Forest.... More

We just returned from our tenth or eleventh year at Bearskin. We have a seven year-old daughter and we stay with my parents for a total of five in Cabin #10. We like that there are no t.v.s, no smoking, and no pets in the cabins. Every year when we walk into the cabin we comment on how clean everything... More

We were first timers at the Bearskin.....and we will definately be back!! Wonderful owners & staff, quite, peaceful, beautiful, clean....not even enough words. My husband and I have NEVER had a better trip to the Gunflint Trail. Neither one of us has stayed at a nicer resort - anywhere!! We both highly recommend it to all who can go to... More

My husband and I went with my parents and in-laws in mid-August. The Bearskin Lodge is not in the town of Grand Marais, it's actually 25 miles up the Gunflint Trail. My husband's family have been going on vacation in this area for the last 30 years. It was my third trip and I am in love. This region, called... More

We just returned home from our third trip to Bearskin and stayed in Cabin 6. We previously stayed in Cabin 8. We loved Cabin 6 this year, as we had five people, and the big screen porch on the front of the cabin helped increase our personal space, and provided a great place for fresh air when we worked on...
