This is one of the most magical places on earth! No pretense, just a lovely existence which attracts wonderful people. The Gustavus Inn is a beautiful place, with beautiful flowers and gardens, exquisite food and most of all, wonderful people who are giving of their culture from the heart. One can not help but come away planning their next visit... More

The five stars are completely deserved. We came for one night and wished we had stayed for one week (at least). There is a tranquility here that seems to make time stand still...and yet it passed all too fast! The inn itself is utterly charming, with nooks and crannies to tuck yourself away in. Gorgeous, peaceful countryside, stunning kitchen garden... More

The Gustavus Inn was a place that I would have wanted to stay for more than only two nights. The people there were just absolutely wonderful, and waited patiently for you to rise out of your comfortable bed, made your breakfast as soon as you ordered it. The cook was just as nice as everyone there. They also seat you... More

This is a lovely inn in a gorgeous setting. The food is amazing with local seafood and veges from their own beautiful garden. Most impressive is the staff and ownership. Everyone is kind and helpful. We were unable to fly to Wrangell for the next leg of our trip and luckily they found room for us and Joann worked tirelessly... More

Fresh air, quiet surroundings, delicious food served family style, conversation with people you just met who soon seem like old friends, and, oh yes, again the food. Much of it prepared on premises from local, seasonal products: halibut, salmon, sheefish, and crab from the sea, vegetables and flowers from the garden. Friendly, welcoming, competent proprietors, and staff, and so relaxing.... More

Dave and JoAnn are amazing innkeepers - they have it down to a science. Prior to our trip, Dave emailed and inquired about our interests and booked all of our excursions (whale watching with TAZ and the Glacier Bay cruise). They organize all of the transfers and have a large supply of bikes on the property in case you want... More

Staying at the Gustavus in was just like a honeymoon each time we have stayed there. I think the highlight of the Gustavus send it to people you get to have meals with and the conversations that are encouraged. Not only is the food amazing, I love the rhubarb sauce. The gardens are amazing and David was ever so kind... More

My son and I took a trip to Glacier Bay to celebrate his graduation from high school. It was unforgettable. Dave and the staff at the inn were unfailingly helpful, polite, and friendly. The food was tremendous. And the staff arranged great trips for us, which included fishing, kayaking, hiking, and biking. My son and I would go out early... More

We have visited many times and agree with others' comments about the delicious food, excellent accommodations and coordination of various activities. But what really makes the Inn so outstanding is the genuine warmth and attention to detail by Dave and Joann. They remember and respond to your likes, comments and preferences. They do not hesitate to make extra efforts to... More

Thanks for coming back to Alaska again. We alway look forward to hosting you. The weather did present some challenges this summer, and we love the chance to "turn it into a postitive", Happy travellers make it easy to go the extra mile and share your enjoyment. It was a great night in the end! More

We just spent 2 nights at the Inn as a family of 5 and had a wonderful time. Thank you to Dave and his team. Food was delicious, the rooms were clean and meticulously decorated. Lots of attention to detail...they even helped us change travel plans on charter flights and arranged all our activities in Gustavus. One of my favorite... More
