The inn was beautiful, very quiet, and perfectly clean. The room was very nice and the bathroom had the biggest shower I've ever seen. It had great dog energy with five+ dogs running around with Susan. The inn was also 10 minutes from the west glacier entrance and about 50 minutes from whitefish. Overall it felt very welcoming and comfortable.

From the moment we arrived Susan and her loveable dogs treated us like family. The Inn is beautiful, impeccably maintained, and situated in a wonderful mountain setting where you can watch the sun set from the giant, inviting porch. The serve yourself continental breakfast was perfect before a day of hiking Glacier and it included hot and cold cereal choices,... More

Our stay was wonderful. We took a day off from sightseeing in the park and this was the perfect spot to do it. We spent the day relaxing on the comfortable outside chairs, reading our books, with the beautiful mountain views in the background. We stayed 2 nights. My mother and daughter stayed in the Grande room. It's a very... More

I had the pleasure of staying at The Great Bear Inn a few years ago and decided to visit Glacier National Park again , with my Grandchildren this time. My visit this time, if possible was better than last time. Susan the owner is just as friendly, engaging and helpful since I had been here before. The main lodge is... More

We stayed here July 27-29, 2015. The location was ideal because it was off the main roads but close to the park's west entrance. The lodge is surrounded by trees with beautiful views. We stayed in the room upstairs with two beds (perfect for two adults and two kids). Good size room, bathroom with large shower, and all of the... More

The Great Bear Inn is a perfect place to stay when visiting Glacier National Park. Each of the charming guest rooms is beautifully designed and decorated, as are the large open great room, dining room and kitchen. The great bear Inn would be a great location for a family reunion, small business meeting, or even better, a quilter's retreat. The... More

We got to the the Great Bear Inn past 11:00 p.m. on July 22nd and Susan had left a note on the door telling us which room we were in, excellent! We stayed in a deluxe room with two queen beds. The room was spacious enough and cozy at the same time for my husband and I and two older... More

Great Bear Inn is a beautiful place with a secluded feel yet so very close to Glacier NP and surrounding areas, as well as great restaurants of all varieties and price ranges. The grounds were wonderful, as were the views from the deck. The room was huge and comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer! Susan was an exceptional... More

We had a relaxing and comfortable stay at the Great Bear. Four of us (mom, dad and 2 teen girls) stayed very comfortably in an upstairs room. Best features: clean, modern and friendly, "make yourself at home" attitude of Susan the innkeeper, close to park entrance but off the main road, free laundry, continental and hot breakfast, amazing back deck... A truly magnificent place to stay! We stumbled across the Great Bear Inn while searching for accommodations at the last minute during a recent trip to Glacier. Located off the beaten path, yet within a couple of minutes to the West glacier Park entrance, we found the lodge to be comfortable, inviting and peaceful. The log structure is beautifully decorated... More
