You will not be disappointed it you stay here. They have a 4 dog greeting committee who treat you like long lost cousins. The place is spotless and very tastefully appointed. Our bed had a comfy tempurpedic mattress and the shower was always hot which is great after a long day of hiking. Breakfast was a lovely assortment of muffins,... More

We loved the beautiful and peaceful atmosphere of this resort! Our cabin, Eagle's Nest, was charming and inviting. It was clean, tastefully decorated, and well stocked for our stay. We felt at home! The service was friendly, responsive, and accommodating. The only problem is that we could not stay longer. We are definitely returning to The Great Bear Inn, and... More

The Great Bear Inn is a beautiful facility. The rooms are nicely furnished and the beds are wonderful. We received a refund for the dinners we had paid for and were delighted to try out the Belton Grill. I could have given this inn a five star rating except for a few easily fixed shortcomings. Breakfast was a make it... More

The cabin and main lodge have all the amenities of home. Well maintained grounds, well maintained lodging.Staff are prompt to help if needed. Great Bear Inn is very easy to find even with Google maps it sits just far enough back in the forest for the secluded cabin feel, but just minutes from good dinning and activities. Two of the... You are staying in a house with no support staff. We spent $325 per night to stay in the basement of the house in a room that was next to the game room and beneath the kitchen. Fortunately, everyone was respectful so that it was quiet from 10pm to 7am. The door to our room is a regular house door,... More

Love the accommodations and the entire atmosphere. The Inn Keeper sets a wonderful, friendly and homey retreat. The rooms are clean and well stocked. The area is absolutely gorgeous with great access to the park. We will go back and visit again.

It appeared the owner was trying to run the place without the help she needed. It is located off the beaten path, hard to find and you can only get there via unsaved and pot holed roads. We had purchased breakfast and dinner with our room but the cook, owner's son, was hurt and the cost of the meals were... More

It is frustrating to receive this type of review as it shows that this person never read our website, nor brought the directions on our website as suggested prior to their arrival. Our website clearly states that we are located one mile off the main highway on a county gravel road and that there are no facilities in West Glacier... More

Lovely mountain retreat, but would not recommend. not having dinner was a letdown, we were not given the option of cancelling. we did get refund for not having dinner. Part of the charm, we thought was having dinner there as most country Inns. Susan was very nice, but a little lax on details. the back deck was lovely, but only... More

Again, Please read our website prior to making a reservation...Our website clearly states in three places that we are located off the main highway on a county gravel road and that there is nowhere in the West Glacier area where you will not hear train whistles nearby as this is Train Country which is part of it's charm. To overstaff... More

We are big fans of this place, having visited before and having recommended it highly to friends (who also enjoyed their stay). But our latest stay slightly disappointed. Unfortunately the chef was unable to cook (these things happen, of course), so we ate elsewhere in the area. This meant that part of the charm of the Great Bear was lost:... More

Although a very nice place - and in a cracking location we found it a bit strange to be told we had to be in bed at 10 PM - after travelling all day and after eating dinner we were using the facilities (pool table) and then told at 10PM to make it our last game.

Although British and Americans speak the same language, there must be a huge communication breakdown here. We would never tell a guest to "go to bed". We simply reminded this person that the Billiards Room Hours end at 10:00 as we have guests on either side of this room. Susan Sullivan Owner The Great Bear Inn More
