Greatest view in the United States? Probably. It's 100-years-old and still in great shape. You can tell that it was probably the ultimate hotel in America when it was opened in 1915. It's a real piece of American culture and history. The greatest views ever and some great hikes - Grinnell Glacier - start form here. Hilarious that people are... More

Obviously a great location and the historic 100 yr old lodge was pretty cool but the experience was not good. The 2 restaurants were woefully slow. The only other option was a similarly slow Italian place at the Swiftcurrent sister lodge a mile away. We tried it and they said a 15-20 min wait which turned out to be 45... More

This is the review of Heidi Cafe downstairs. This place has lot of things you can buy as to go lunch or snack before your hike. Vegetarians may find limited options. They are quick and accommodating. No qualms.

I understand this is a old hotel, however, the staff was poorly trained. I felt I was staying in a dorm. Our room was on the 4th floor facing the lake, but was EXTREMELY hot and uncomfortable. Apparently it was a heat wave the week we were there. We stayed 2 nights but wished we stayed 1 and moved on... More

We stayed here three nights and the place was great. As folks say, this is no four star hotel. The bathroom is small, the beds a bit lumpy, the heating basic, and the furnishings crude. However, the views are great and the lobby area is spectacular. And there is the rub -- we were up on the second floor far... More

A pleasant room above the lobby with a lovely view of the lake. Unfortunately the sound of people congregating in the lobby well after 10pm was loud enough to deny me the peaceful enjoyment of my room. It was suggested that the noise would die down by 10pm, but it was well after 10 when I called the front desk... More

We were to stay at the Rising Sun Motor lodge on our 3rd night in the park - night one was at village in at apgar (fab location and view from room), night two in cabin at lake macdonald. We were going to be in the many glacier area so they let us switch with no charge since we basically... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay here and preferred this hotel over Lake McDonald Lodge and Prince of Wales Hotel in Waterton Lakes, Canada on our week-long trip in the "Crown of the continent". The largest of the three, it has a grand, quintessential soaring lobby, awesome views of mountains and glaciers, 2 bars and 2 restaurants. It is a... More

Of all the places we stayed on a recent hiking trip to Glacier, this was our least favorite as far as the rooms were concerned. Maybe it was because we were staying on the ground floor with a door that walks out right beside the lake. Truly, as we walked down the hallway to our room, we felt as though... More
