We took the boat tour behind the hotel. Our guide was very informative about history and we absolutely loved the views! The restaurant was beautiful, and has a nice view of the lake also. The food was great and the staff was friendly. We had just finished a long day touring the park and it was nice to relax there... More

We just returned from a stay at Glacier National Park. We were camping, but treated ourselves to one night at the Lake McDonald Lodge. What a beautiful, grand lodge. We stayed in one of the suites located in a different building than the main lodge, but the complete experience was lovely. The staff at the front desk, restaurants, gift shops... More

We stayed in a cabin and loved it. Our cabin building was split into 2 rooms, front and back. We had the room in the back and our door was facing the parking lot, we thought next time we'll try and stay on the lake side in one of the units with a little porch (depending on the price differential!).... The park is beautiful. The hotel is "Historic" & in a magnificent setting & that is what you have to remember when you book to stay here. It is NOT about luxurious accommodations, it is about the location & the historic building. That's all there is to it ! Oh We had a special need, so if the hotel staff... More

The lodge is really 3 stars but the location is awesome. It's a great place to stay in Glacier. The cabins are old but you don't stay here for the cabins, you stay here for the location and views. I stayed in one of the cabins just a few feet from the main lodge. The cabin was clean and comfortable.... More

Ask for the Cobb cottage - beautifully outfitted, right on the lake, with an excellent porch. Just the place to relax after driving and hiking on the Going to the Sun road. We did not eat in the lodge, but at a related restaurant - nothing special, but quick service.

My husband and I stayed at Lake McDonald Lodge for night in a 1 double and 1 twin bed. There is no air conditioning, but we had 2 windows in the main room and 1 in the bathroom, had had them wide open to let the breeze in. We were on the 3rd floor, and did not have a nice... More

I know it was cheap ($95 for a room that holds 2 persons) but it was awful. Double bed (not a queen) pushed into the corner, so one person has to climb over the other, etc. The rooms have no bathroom, no A/C and some nasty idiot carefully positioned the bed so that the headboard blocked more than half the... Loved the hotel the views and specially the rocking chairs on the patio, nice to watch the water and mountains behind it. From the bar to the patio was only few steps nice to sit outside and read. I took my book outside set for a long time

The view from the Lake McDonald Lodge is terrific, but the motel section of the lodge is not terrific. The rooms are small, noisy and basic. I could hear toilets flushing all night long, so it was very difficult to sleep. There is NO soundproofing in the rooms. You can hear the conversations of the people above you. The main... More
