The area is beautiful and we enjoyed our three day stay. We rented a room in a house called Cobb Suite because it has its own living room and a large front porch facing the lake. We loved just sitting and looking out at the lake in our own little private area. The Lodge is a three minute walk away,... More

This is the hotel on the west side to stay in if you dream of seeing and experiencing glacier at its birth. Slightly threadbare, but with class, open spaces, walks, wonderful public areas, grand stairs, classic western decoration, and a sense of seclusion from the insane world from which you came here to escape. Rooms are straightforward, many with private... More

Fantastic Views !!!! A rustic but elegant hotel built long ago in traditional log cabin style. Expensive but when you travel to Glacier National Park, you can splurge. And great experience from both the hotel and the Park. And it has the best location in Glacier National Park.

This is one of the historic hotels in Glacier National Park that certainly must have defined luxury accommodation when built in the early 20th century. An effort has been made to make the rooms acceptable in the 21st century. The cabins are still what they are: cabins in the woods with bare bone amenities but clean and acceptable. There are... This Hotel is all about staying next the the beautiful lake. It is over priced and not very comfortable, but the beauty of the lake makes up for the rooms. The front desk staff was extremely unfriendly. They were not willing to help with any questions or concerns we had. They made us feel like it was a olive leg... More

This is an old lodge in desperate need of updating, particularly the bathrooms which are tiny! The shower was barely big enough to turn around in, and the shower head water pressure was barely enough to rinse off. When I brush my teeth, I bumped my head on the shelf as I bent over an itty-bitty sink. Rooms are plain.... More

We stayed at the Lake McDonald Lodge for one night. It was part of a packaged trekking holiday we arranged through Country Walkers. The hotel is based in Glacier National Park which is what wanted. The hotel is old which also means 'mod cons' are limited. The rooms are small and the bathrooms barely functional. However, there is a lot... More

You won't find modern comfort and fancy electronics here. What you will find is amazing natural beauty, charming old rooms that send you back to the past, and the freeing feeling of being away from everything. Our windows opened on the lake, everything was quiet, we loved it. Yes, the bathroom was small, the shower tiny, the beds only OK,... More

This hotel is worth a stay as it is a historic hotel, with a fabulous location. The views are phenomenal!! You stay here for convenience and ambiance. The rooms are average, but clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly. The food....stick with the bar food. The more expensive plates aren't worth the money. BUT, you don't stay here for the... We stayed in the handicapped accessible cabins (#5). The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was large with a handicapped accessible shower. It was conveniently located close to the main lodge. The rooms were quiet and we slept well. I would absolutely stay here again.
