I had planned to stay at a budget motel on the bland motel strip but found this location when exploring the fascinating mainstreet downtown. The rates were comparable and the charm and history was an added bonus. Having stayed at such places before, I knew that "service and extravagance" is difficult to provide considering the size and economic constraints faced... More

This hotel is definitely more in the European style, funky and rambling. We stayed in a "suite" that had a bedroom and a living area, with a bath in between. Each room had its own sink and mirror. The bed in the bedroom was king size, but had some serious structural issues with the frame on one side. I'd recommend... More

My wife and I stayed at the Palace Hotel as a base for the Hatch Chile and Hillsboro Apple Festivals. Even though, the hotel is still being renovated, the suite we stayed in comfy with an old world feel. There were no air conditioners, but the weekend was cool enough that we did not need any. The hotel was located... More

We stayed at this dump after it was recommended by a few residents of silver city. Our room was small, dingy, and reeked of stale smoke. The shower was awful and dripped all night. The toilet was old, rusty, and kept running. The staff was inattentive , so i fixed the toilet myself 3 times. They were so rude and... More

Recently we reserved a room online, and paid with a credit card. When we arrived, the room we had selected was not available, so they put us in another room. The lady at the desk did not offer to refund our money, or select another, different room, and they were not that busy (it appeared.) We had to carry all... More

If you are looking for the Holiday Inn, don't bother. If you enjoy Euorpean "Gasthoff Style" ambience, this is the place. Our two room suite($62.00) was clean and comfortable. Very nice continental breakfast in cozy upstairs parlor. Several good resturants were within a 2 block walk. Jalisco's Mexican Resturant was outstanding. The roasted chicken entree ($8.95) would serve 2 or... More

Staff was surly and rooms were shabby. Right next door to a loud bar, don't expect to get any sleep. Traffic noise is also an issue. Staff will not put through phone calls after 10:00 PM, indeed you will be lucky to find any staff at all. Quite a disapointment. Silver City really needs a NICE downtown hotel with decent... More

Our room was awful - it was in an older building in which they had converted a center room with no windows into a "king bedroom suite". The TV was broken, the shower head was broken from it's attachment (my husband had to rig it with a bungee cord so that we could shower), and the windowless room was a... More

Our family of eight showed up late in the evening hoping we wouldn't be sleeping in our van. The staff at the Palace Hotel was extremely friendly, rooms were available and very clean and affordable. We loved stepping back into the past. The innkeeper recommended a Mexican restaurant a block away (of course, we can't remember the name of it),... More

We were looking for something other than the usual budget hotel . We headed off to Silver City as a base for adventure around Southwest New Mexico. The hotel was everything we heard, and more. Yes, there was a liitle bit of traffic noise, but then later in the night it was dead silent, and no early morning noise. We... More
