The Palace Hotel in Silver City is a very clean and comfortable historic hotel. The owners have done a very good job of restoring the hotel and make the guests feel very comfortable. As is mentioned in other reviews, the rooms are fairly small, but that is really to be expected in a historic building. The common areas are very... More

Very comfortable old historic hotel. Please keep in mind their "Large Room" is large by late 1800-early 1900's standards; not today's. The radiator heating kept the room very comfortable. There is a large lobby in period decor & felt welcoming. Upstairs common area as well. If you like the historical era, this is the place for you. If you want... More

I have noticed that, like many other hotels, neutral or unfavorable reviews receive comment as being unhelpful. My overall opinion is neutral so jump on. The location is by far the best of any hotel or motel in Silver City & the overall ambiance is charming. Those are the reasons we would stay again. Two years ago we had a... More

We spent a night at this historic hotel. The location is great---right in the town center of Silver City, and this is a very pleasant town to stay in. We had one of the nicer rooms price-wise, and it was OK, but somewhat dated like the entire hotel. The halls are dark, and the overall ambience is one of "past... More

This is a wonderful, old fashioned place, with the feel of the 19th century. The lobby, halls, and rooms exude charm and character. I chose a larger room, 74, and it was great. Very comfortable bed, good bath, and good heat. My room was down the hall from the 2nd floor breakfast area, so it was very private. Some rooms... More

The Palace is an old hotel in downtown Silver City. The rooms are definitely not modern - for example radiators for heat, but each room is different and they all have a lot of charm. If you are looking for modern luxury - look elsewhere, but if you want unique atmosphere, value, and comfy settings, then consider this hotel.

I loved this hotel because it was downtown where all the art gallories & restraunts were. There is a lot of history in the area including this hotel. Our room was small but very quaint. bathrooms were old & NO airconditioning. The rates were reasonable so we choice the room with fridg & microwave another nice feature. the staff went... More

The Manager called me before our trip and demanded that I cancel any rooms we were not using 3 days before we arrived not the 24 hours as they state on the web page. She was not real friendly.. When we got there the rooms were had requested were not assign to the... More

My father stayed at the Palace prior to employment with Phelps Dodge & Company. He moved on to their company town of Tyrone when it was ready in 1915. My stay at the Palace was comfortable and reeking of old west charm and culture that my father told me about over sixty years ago.

If you want to stay in a generic, anywhere USA hotel, then the Palace is not for you. We were treated like family and given every possible consideration. Leslie, the manager, sat and chatted with us during a more than adequate breakfast in the upstairs lobby. We chatted with other guests in a casual atmosphere. The rooms are remodeled in... More
