My wife and I spent 3 nights at Rugby Gardens in early December while on a combination work / pleasure trip to NYC. We decided to stay in Brooklyn to both keep the cost of the trip down a bit and to enjoy another side of the city that we had not previously explored. I'm so glad we did! We... more

My son and I visit NYC often as we have 2 college kids in the city. We just love staying in Brooklyn in this quaint neighborhood! Michael and Sue are the perfect hosts and their house couldn't be more comfortable. They have been most accomodating to us and have made our stays nice and comfy. The morning breakfasts are excellent... more

We enjoyed our stay at Rugby Gardens very much. The rooms were very quiet and comfortable and the service given by Sue and Michael was excellent – breakfast was great and we enjoyed the conversations with our hosts in the morning. The subway just around the corner provides easy transportation to Manhattan and the neighbourhood has a really good atmosphere.... more

My son's wedding was approaching; he now lives in Brooklyn. I've been to NYC zillions of times, but have never really investigated Brooklyn in a leisurely way. Rugby Gardens was our home base for several days, with emphasis on the "home." Architecturally, it's a large Victorian dwelling in a pleasant, historical residential section, close to major sites (museum, botanical garden,... more

A comfortable and very convenient B & B close to Brooklyn's major attractions (Prospect Park, Botanical Garden, Museum) and the Park Slope neighborhood with easy access to Manhattan. Warm and welcoming hosts and an appealing front porch swing to enjoy the tree-lined neighborhood. Sits in a historical district suitable for walking tours but just a couple of hundred yards from... more

We loved our stay with Sue and Michael - and dear Ruby the dog -at Rugby Gardens. They gave us a warm welcome and were always on hand to help. Beautifully decorated accommodation which was such a change from the standard hotel. Great breakfasts as well. Although a few stops from Manhattan, the extra distance to Rugby Gardens was well... more

We stayed at Rugby Gardens for four nights. Sue and Michael, our hosts, went out of their way to be welcoming and helpful, and were very accommodating of our late touristing schedule (11am - 3am). Our room was tastefully furnished and well equipped with a flat screen TV (should you wish to watch it while in New York...). I have... more

I arrived late Saturday afternoon for my 4 night stay at Rugby Gardens. My hosts, Sue and Michael, were on hand to greet me and help with me getting settled in. My room was spacious and comfortable as well as very clean. After a shower and nap, I followed their advice and walked to The Farm, a small, quaint restaurant... more
