Lets see, where to start. I was looking for a cheap place to spend one night in New York. After much research, this was it. $45/night (June 2009 price). The only place cheaper would have been an 8 beds in a room, youth hostel! There are 4 or 5 YMCA in the NYC area, most of them were $60/night. I... more

I stayed here for 14 days in December 2007. This Y is in Cypress Hills, which is a fairly rough neighborhood in Brooklyn. The notoriously rough neighborhood of East New York is right next door. All of the local homes have bars on the windows. The walk to the subway is about a half a mile and is not safe... more
