First time in Brooklyn, and first time in B&B accommodation in New York - we wouldnt normally choose a period style place but those tripadvisor reviews were very compelling! Stayed for six nights in July, in the Gramercy room which is extremely comfortable, and had a wonderful stay. All those glowing reviews are correct - Robert is the perfect host!... More

Recently, I visited New York for the first time. Despite being a fairly experienced Australian traveller in Europe and Asia, I was new to the USA and quite nervous about encountering these reportedly brash rude people who yelled if you did not tip enough. In other words, countries in which you don't speak a word of the local language were... More

We have stayed at the Loralei B&B, built in 1904, three times. We have stayed in both their rooms, which are accurately described on their website (www.loraleinyc.com). Most recently we stayed in the Sutton Room, which does not have an ensuite bathroom. That, having vowed we would never go to a place with that kind of set-up. Your (NOT shared)... More

My wife and I recently stayed at the Loralei B&B for 5 nights. We had been referred to the Loralei by some friends and their recommendation did not disappoint. The location is less than a 5 minute walk to the subway, and extremely handy for trips into NYC for the day. The B&B itself was extremely clean, and our host,... More

Recently stayed, along with our married Daughter for a week at this B&B, and we would say that Robert was a great host making us very welcome. The house is lovely, being tastefully decorated and very comfortable. It was very convenient for the Subway and Buses. Breakfast was excellent with a wonderful selection of fruit and a great variety of... More

My wife and I have stayed at the Loralie B&B several times and always remind ourselves how lucky we were to find it. It is a beautiful Victorian era house, with two very comfortable suites (gramercy and Sutton). The bathrooms are large and modern. When you first arrive, you are greeted in the beautifully appointed living room that is accented... More

Our experience might have been unusual because the proprietor was away during the weekend we visited. The woman who greeted was not knowledgeable about the neighborhood. The breakfast was very poor--packaged commercial breads and bagels, boxed cold cereal, and some fruit. Luckily there is a great breakfast place just a block away with delicious homemade pastries (Milk and Honey), so... More

When you stayed with us for the weekend about six months ago, we appreciated your immediate feedback to us because we always strive to improve our guest’s experience. On the rare occasion when we are not present, we want to ensure that the high standards expected by our guests are always delivered. Most of our guests love the Sutton Suite... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the Loralei B&B. The accommodations were superb, The B&B is in an excellent location with great access to Manhattan, restaurants and Brooklyn neighborhoods. A fantastic jewel in the heart of a great neighborhood. Owner/Manager Robert is fantastic, such pride in his beautiful Victorian home, his knowledge of the city is outstanding.....he leaves no... Over the past four years, we have often visited the Loralei B&B, a lovely 1904 Victorian located in an area rich with other large homes of the period. We have stayed in both of its rooms and found each equally comfortable. The Gramercy Suite is the more spacious; the smaller Sutton Room has a sitting room across from it, with... More

My wife and I made a great decision when we stayed at the Loralei over the Thanksgiving holiday. From the first contact to driving away our experience was positive. Robert was a most gracious and experienced host, and unobtrusively sought out the opportunity to be accommodating, a rare and joyous quality. His home was wonderfully decorated in a period style,...
