We usually stay in cookie cutter hotels with great reviews, where the ice machine is by the elevator and the interior décor is on trend. We were stepping outside our comfort zone by staying at this B&B! Yes, you are not calling an 800# with an army to take your reservation. This is a Mom and Pop hotel. Breakfast is... More

We stayed one night, Thurs before catching the QMII on Fri June 13. I was bitten by some type of bug or spider, 2 days later it swelled and blistered and continued to get worse. Five other spots appeared on my other leg and began to blister while on the cruise. After two doctors seeing the rash, neither could guess... More

As I sit in Pennsylvania responding to this review, I am literally scratching a mosquito bite on my ankle. I don’t know exactly when or where I got the bite, and I suspect the same is true of this reviewer, who could have gotten bitten by a spider, mosquito or any other flying or crawling insect at any number of... My friend and I meet in NYC each year for theater, restaurants, shopping, etc. I happened to find Akwaaba Mansion on line. We have never stayed in Brooklyn, and thought we might give it a try. From the time we arrived until we departed, we were amazed by the level of service we received. Erica could not have been more... More

My husband and I stayed at the brooklyn location on the night of our wedding, because our honeymoon wasn't until 3 days later. We had a great experience, prior to our arrival we received a call from the manager to confirm our arrival and provided brief instructions for entry to the house (since we were scheduled for a late check... We stayed for a week and it was perfect. The place, the staff, the room, breakfast, Brooklyn. Everything. Neighborhood is also very nice, friendly people everywhere. Eating and drinking at Peaches is delicious. As it is at the Italian restaurant.

I was excited to come to this bed & breakfast. This was a great mini local getaway. Short but sweet, breakfast with Bridgette and other guests was also delightful. Erica the office manager aka the hostess was also a delight. She made the stay was very comfortable, with her eagerness for our comfort. She is kind, open-minded, humble, multifaceted, and... More

We stayed for 2 nights here for the first time based on the glowing recommendation this location recieved from my sister & her husband, who are frequent guests here. Our choice was the Black Memorabilia room. The decor was nicely done & the structure of the inside reminded me of my grandmother's house not too far away,on Malcolm X Blvd which was... More

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the Akwaaba Mansion, and enjoyed the total experience. The accommodations were decorated beautifully, and atmosphere was so relaxing! I would recommend the Ashante Suite. Monique and the staff pampered us with impeccable service that started with breakfast in the morning (the buttermilk pancakes were delicious), along with insightful tips on activities. There are...
