I had a ball here at akwaaba mansion in brooklyn...the décor. the privacy, the warmth of the staff and the closeness to everything in new York, but in the rooms I felt so far away. will be back. very soon! I stayed in the urban retreat, and the bathroom had a claw foot tub- and the most sumptuous bathrobes ever...it... More

We've stayed in the Ashante room twice (there only 4 rooms in the Inn). Not only a great breakfast each day but the people we meet around the big table have been fascinating to talk with. Don't go here for luxury accommodations, tho it is very comfortable. Go for the neighborhood, the innkeepers, relaxed breakfast & conversation, quiet places to... More

Absolutely loved this B&B! The staff and owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is beautiful and ecclectic and it has everything that you need to make your stay enjoyable, i.e. restaurants, subway access, shops, a park, playground, plus we came into contact with some of the most interesting and friendliest people I have ever met (which was a... I have stayed at the Akwaaba Cape May and Noble Lane locations. I love them all but there is something special about the Akwaaba Mansion in Brooklyn. It really does feel like a home away from home... only better for so many reasons! (1) The Innkeepers. If you frequent b&b, you know innkeepers can make or break the experience. Monique... More

Excellent location close to wonderful restaurants and the subway, friendly and accommodating staff, and beautiful property. The hot breakfast every morning was amazing and delicious. our last morning, since we were the last guests for the weekend, we were served on the front porch. We will be going back!

Stayed for 5 nights during our visit to NYC and this place did not live up to our expectations at all. I can live with furniture being old and even manage without a bathroom door (!) but do not like filth. Our room and bathroom had not been properly cleaned for a very long time. Pictures must have been taken... More

bnbaccomDC, Owner at Akwaaba Mansion Bed & Breakfast, responded to this review

This has been a difficult review to respond to. It posted to the Trip Advisor website the morning after we enjoyed an open house celebrating 20 years of operation as a bed and breakfast in Brooklyn. Hundreds of past guests attended and shared how much they appreciated their time at Akwaaba Mansion. Reading this review the next morning was deflating... More

The room was classic Brooklyn. The decor was reminiscent of the movie "Crooklyn". It's definitely a god spot to reconnect with your mate. There is a nice restaurant around the corner (Peaches). I loved the space and the hubby and I are planning to return again in the near future.

We strongly recommend the Akwaaba B&B in this quiet area of Brooklyn. We felt like guests in a family home. So much thought goes into the decoration of the rooms, and the breakfasts, eaten with the other guests, are also carefully considered and delicious. All in all a great option for staying in New York.

Actually I should not tell anyone about this beautiful place for fear that in the future it will become impossible to get a room here. My girlfriend and I visiting from Germany were so happy to have found this place. Monique and Glen are wonderful hosts and we felt really at home from the moment we arrived. Glen let us... More

Definitely would recommend to stay here. Lots of character make this B&B special. Rooms are clean spacious. Rooms are all different so it was hard to choose which to stay in. The owners are super friendly people and in my excitement seeing this place in person made them probably think im some kind of weirdo. Lol. Breakfast was served in... More
