The Akwaaba was wonderfully accommodating and perfect for our group. The Mansion is both grand and cozy. The breakfast was marvelous, the rooms all unique and created with such attention to detail. Great location off the beaten path in Stuyvesant Heights, but still close to the subway.

Akwaaba Mansion has been my second home for over 10 years. It is a statuesque B&B that boats richness of the past shown with the the original marble stone fireplaces, towering chandeliers enclosed in crown molding, pictures, etc. However, it has accents of the present. It has a wraparound yard for weddings, which is beautiful in the spring/summer. I have... More

My partner and I have been to New York a half dozen times or more. We have friends who now live in Booklyn and our niece lives in upper west Manhattan. We wanted something that made sense logistically. The location of Akwaaba was two blocks from the A and C line at Utica Station and is 10 minutes from downtwon... More

Finally got to enjoy a night at Akwaaba Mansion in Brooklyn. My daughter treated me to a night there to celebrate my birthday and it was just fantastic! Monique greeted me warmly when I arrived, the room was perfect, we received wonderful recommendations for dinner, slept soundly in a great bed, then woke up and ate an absolutely delicious breakfast... Akwaaba is a nicely-restored B&B in the Bed-Stuy neighborhood. Glenn and Monique are charming and friendly, and do a wonderful job of making you feel welcome and providing a wonderful, quiet, private space and great breakfasts. We stayed at Akwaaba for three nights while visiting our daughter who lives nearby. Akwaaba is about a 5 minute walk to the A... More

I celebrated my wedding night here. The experience was impeccable. The house and grounds are gorgeous. The room we stayed in (jumping the broom) was romantic, gorgeously decorated, and so cozy and inviting. The innkeeper and staff are remarkable -- gifted and so welcoming. Breakfast the next morning was divine. Akwaaba Mansion is a true gem. This place really is... More

Akwaaba is a first-class inn, a luxury B&B that relaxes you and pampers you, while respecting your privacy and accommodating your tastes and schedule. Monique Greenwood, the owner, has five inns now in cities in the U.S. This was her first B&B, the foundation for her success. She has even written two books based on her experience in business and... My boyfriend and I have stayed at the DC Akwaaba once a year over roughly the past 5 years and on our first trip to Brooklyn this past summer, we had our first stay at the Brooklyn Akwaaba. There is a reason we keep coming back. Both locations offer (what's the best way to describe it?) quaint luxury--we feel, in... More

We had a really nice sized room with large private bath (I believe they all are). The room looks over a peaceful garden. Neighborhood is quaint and quiet, and it is easy to get to the city center. The service is impeccable. The room is clean. Staff is on site to great you and make sure your needs are taken... More
