I live just blocks away and have passed the inn many times but never stayed. I needed a place of peace and decided to stay there. It was just amazing. The service was friendly, warm and inviting. My room was amazing. The decor warm and welcoming. I immediately felt peace. It offered immediate relaxation. It was quiet and soothing. It... More

My wife and I were referred by a friend about the Akwaaba mansion in Brooklyn and we decided to give it a try in celebrating our marriage. I must say the service was very good, friendly, and warm. The food served at breakfast was simply great! We also liked the fact that we could come and go as we pleased... More

This inn is a special place. The grace and beauty of the house, its scale, its location on a beautiful street with brownstones galore, the lovely decor, the comfortable bed and lush towels, and the incredible and warm service make it a place that I plan to go to again and again. Melissa's breakfasts were fantastic. The glass sun porch,... More

Yes its clean beautiful & run by professionals but its more than that. Akwaaba offers a gateway into a mythical paradise that cannot be explained can only be experienced. I love this home so much that i kept extending my stay absorbing its mysteries creating new stories and art in the process. Akwaaba is more than a bed and breakfast... More

I found my stay at the Brooklyn location, comfortable, and charming. It is a b and b where home type ambiance meets elegance, the breakfasts were all delicious and appealing to all of the senses. i found The conversation at breakfast with other guests intellectually stimulating. on top of that they actually care about their guests!!!!

This place is all "hat"and no "cowboy". Most of the upgrades were performed in the parlor as eye candy upon your arrival. The pictures online of the rooms were terribly deceptive. Our room had tattered drapes, cracked and missing bathroom tiles, no real towels to bathe, and the foot board was simply leaning against the bed frame. The church bell... More

We were greeted and made to feel at home immediately. An afternoon refreshment platter was prepared for us, sort of like an afternoon tea. Our room was beautifully decorated, large, with a comfortable matress. The staff was very helpful with advice on getting around. The breakfast was fresh, filling, totally unhealthy (French Toast, fruit, bacon, and great coffee), delicious, and... More

We stayed here for a weekend while in town for a concert. It's a lovely old house. The staff is very nice and attentive. The rooms are old but decorated nice and are clean. The breakfast is a lovely touch, way beyond what you get at many places. You also get a chance to have some good conversation with the... More

We stayed 2 nights in the Black Memorabilia room. Tired old AC worked, but ready for replacement. Steps down to bath are amateur carpenterish and need cleaning and paint. No grab rail for tub nor instructions about what to do in case of fire. Twin doors to bath aren't real doors and don't close. Breakfast was at impressively set table,... More

We thank this guest for taking the time to offer feedback. At Akwaaba, we work hard to exceed guest expectations, and we're really sorry that wasn't the case this time. The reviewer is correct: the A/C does work, so we're not sure why it needs to be replaced. And there are double shutter doors that close and separate the bedroom... More

My wife and I stayed here on our road trip honeymoon and it was definitely worth the madness of driving through Staten Island and Brooklyn. Breakfast was AWESOME and got to chat with some very cool people. Highly recommend!
