This place is all "hat"and no "cowboy". Most of the upgrades were performed in the parlor as eye candy upon your arrival. The pictures online of the rooms were terribly deceptive. Our room had tattered drapes, cracked and missing bathroom tiles, no real towels to bathe, and the foot board was simply leaning against the bed frame. The church bell... More

We were greeted and made to feel at home immediately. An afternoon refreshment platter was prepared for us, sort of like an afternoon tea. Our room was beautifully decorated, large, with a comfortable matress. The staff was very helpful with advice on getting around. The breakfast was fresh, filling, totally unhealthy (French Toast, fruit, bacon, and great coffee), delicious, and... More

We stayed here for a weekend while in town for a concert. It's a lovely old house. The staff is very nice and attentive. The rooms are old but decorated nice and are clean. The breakfast is a lovely touch, way beyond what you get at many places. You also get a chance to have some good conversation with the... More

We stayed 2 nights in the Black Memorabilia room. Tired old AC worked, but ready for replacement. Steps down to bath are amateur carpenterish and need cleaning and paint. No grab rail for tub nor instructions about what to do in case of fire. Twin doors to bath aren't real doors and don't close. Breakfast was at impressively set table,... More

We thank this guest for taking the time to offer feedback. At Akwaaba, we work hard to exceed guest expectations, and we're really sorry that wasn't the case this time. The reviewer is correct: the A/C does work, so we're not sure why it needs to be replaced. And there are double shutter doors that close and separate the bedroom... More

My wife and I stayed here on our road trip honeymoon and it was definitely worth the madness of driving through Staten Island and Brooklyn. Breakfast was AWESOME and got to chat with some very cool people. Highly recommend!

We stayed at the Akwaaba Mansion in Brooklyn for six days and enjoyed our stay every day. Located in Brooklyn, it is a perfect place for a stay in New York: You are far away from the city's noise, yet just a short walk away from the A (express) and C (local) subway which brings you to the heart of... My wife and I spent a 3 day 4 night stay at Akwaaba in July after our wedding in Maine and were extremely happy with our stay. We stayed in the Ashanti room while we were at the B&B and were very happy with the room during our stay (tub needs a slight reno job but the shower worked great).... More

We usually stay in cookie cutter hotels with great reviews, where the ice machine is by the elevator and the interior décor is on trend. We were stepping outside our comfort zone by staying at this B&B! Yes, you are not calling an 800# with an army to take your reservation. This is a Mom and Pop hotel. Breakfast is... More

We stayed one night, Thurs before catching the QMII on Fri June 13. I was bitten by some type of bug or spider, 2 days later it swelled and blistered and continued to get worse. Five other spots appeared on my other leg and began to blister while on the cruise. After two doctors seeing the rash, neither could guess... More

As I sit in Pennsylvania responding to this review, I am literally scratching a mosquito bite on my ankle. I don’t know exactly when or where I got the bite, and I suspect the same is true of this reviewer, who could have gotten bitten by a spider, mosquito or any other flying or crawling insect at any number of...
