It is hard to find a hotel in Brooklyn, and we wanted something small and near the interesting neighborhoods, and Nu fits that bill. It's in the BOCOCA area: midway from Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens. The lobby is tiny and noisy and the "reception" desk is a tiny area, with no place to stand without blocking the elevator,... More

best deal I have found in Brooklyn. Great rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Terrific fitness room. Superb location. A million great restaurants in the area. Items in the mini-bar are even cheap. Good breakfast.

Rooms are very nice and staff even better. Very helpful and friendly. Relaxed expanded continental breakfast in comfortable lobby? Within easy walking distance of Barclays and subway. Location is in older area but many small restaurants and boutiques for those inclined to shopping. We have already booked another stay there in the fall. No in hotel restaurant but nice lobby... I was put up here for a business trip two years ago - and rarely have I stayed anywhere with such a strong sense of itself, and it's location. Friendly, relaxed staff; good, free internet access; a great little gym (nice free-weights section for it's size), and a stone's throw from Manhattan. My room was spacious, sleek, comfortable, and beautifully... More

Wow! I love your last sentence, "a magical place"...that is amazing, thank you so much. This is just the ambiance we are striving to create, a strong sense of place using music, art and design to do just that. This review is so encouraging, we'll keep bringing in local art and hiring friendly and knowledgable staff members...and you keep coming... More

We spent a weekend in Brooklyn's Nu Hotel with teenage kids. This hotel was phenomenal! We booked the Family Room with the bunk beds. Rooms were exceptionally clean! (and I am one of those freaks that check the room before sleeping in it.) Beds were so comfortable, you just melt away in them! The view was great from a corner... More

What a great review, thank you so much! It's wonderful to hear that everyone in your family was pleased...that's a tall order when you are talking teenagers! Our Friends Suite is perfect for families or friends traveling together. We also recently converted our rooms that had two twin beds into rooms with two double beds, so they now sleep four... More

We like smaller hotels, but there's always that terrible moment when you have to unload and register while figuring out how to safely ditch the car. At the Nu Hotel, however, there's an adjoining parking garage and waiting luggage wagon that carries the arrival stress along with your bags. The rooms are newly renovated, the staff helpful, and the décor... More

We try to make staying with us as easy as possible, and it seems to have worked. Glad to hear you were pleased with our parking situation, the garage does make things super convenient and the price isn't terrible either, compared to Manhattan, anyway! We hope to see you again on your next trip to NYC...thank you for taking the... More

Stayed here for business and loved the accommodations. Modern, yet comfortable. Received a free upgrade and was excited to lounge in the hammock. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom well-stocked, clean, and beautiful. Outlets right next to bed - very convenient. Came in late and checked out early - front desk staff friendly and attentive. Continental breakfast was nice. Parking garage... More

I've stayed a few times at the Nu Hotel. Its my go-to choice for work in Brooklyn, and also a reasonable choice for Manhattan. Pro's: good price, great location, good service from the staff, nice room size, decent breakfast, evening happy hour Con's: cold room floor (white linoleum), small closets, three block walk to nearest subway stop This is a... Thanks so much for your review, it means a lot when a seasoned traveler is impressed with their experience. While we can't move ourselves closer to the subway (unfortunately!), we can make sure that the things under our control are taken care of each time. Please keep coming back, and we'll keep making sure you are well taken care of!... More

I needed a hotel within walking distance of downtown Brooklyn. The rooms are comfy with nice beds and linens. I requested a quiet room and did get a corner room on the 4 th floor. The continental breakfast offers very nice freshly baked assortment of bagels, Kashi cereals, hard boiled eggs, granola bars, coffees, teas, & juices. This is included in... More

I think my favorite thing about this hotel is the design. It has a minimalist/modern aspect to it that is visually appealing and sort of comforting/relaxing. It also had a lot of ny style street art in the lobby. At the same time, utility was obviously a priority in the design as well. As soon as you look for something... More

This is a great review, thank you so much for your thoughts on the hotel. The noise situation with your heating unit is very unfortunate, and I'm disappointed that it sullied your stay. Next time you are coming to NU, email me directly and I will make sure that your HVAC unit is as quiet as possible, and also provide... More
