Great place! Friendly owner, safe neighborhood with a great bagel place a block away. Clean and well kept. We will be back! We stayed in the Parlor Room. The deck and garden area are quite and full of flowers and plants. I knocked over a flower pot on my way out and the owner was very nice and understanding. Stay... More

I live nearby and booked the entire Sofia Inn for my out of town guests for my wedding. My wife took over our apartment with her wedding party, so I gathered my troops and we all got ready at the Sofia. The place is absolutely beautiful; well-preserved pre-war details, high ceilings and easy check in and check out. The Parlor... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sofia Inn. It's in a great neighbourhood, close to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and the Brooklyn Museum, and two subway stops served by 4 different lines. We stayed in one of the rooms with a kitchen and found it easy to self-cater many meals, with a supermarket and other grocery stores just around... More

We stayed here for one night while enjoying a play at BAM. It was our first trip to Brooklyn and we had no idea what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that we were staying in a real Brooklyn brownstone ideally situated for sightseeing and the play. The room was spacious and very clean and nicely furnished.... More

My wife and 10 year old daughter loved the garden room. Shopping a block away. Restaurants a block away. Subway near by. The review that said old and dusty was wrong. We loved it. Questions ? email me. Jay.... Austin TX ......... Webbersongs@gmail.com

Room was spacious and quiet with fully appointed kitchenette and very adequate bathroom. Comfortable bed and fluffy, thick towels. Very clean and pleasant space. It is obvious the landlords care not only about their tenants(even for one night!), but their lovely brownstone as well.

I recently rented the Garden Suite for friends (2 adults, 2 kids) visiting from Mexico. The Garden Suite (ground floor in the brownstone with access to the back yard) is spacious with a full kitchen. The bathroom is a bit small and cramped but serviceable. The kitchen has everything you need - they don't serve breakfast. There are plenty of... More

We stayed in The Palour Suite at this Inn. It was our first time, and we really appreciated the comfortable, relaxing, welcoming feel of the place. We settled in straight away, felt at home. Yes, decor, furniture quirky, but we are OK with that. Yes, there are minor elements that are old and worn, needing some TLC, but on the... More

Another wonderful time had at the sofia inn. Lovely, comfortable, relaxing, clean and quirky. This is not your typical hotel, it is like staying in a mini apartment. I think the reviews suggesting it is old and tired have missed the point. The design if the rooms I gave seen are really nicely but together with and artsy style, old... More

We stayed here three nights as a less-costly alternative to staying in Manhattan. Great location, close to the bus line and the subway, and walking distance to the park and to a few good breakfast joints. However, the accommodates were very mediocre. The hotel itself has potential to be very charming and beautiful but inside it is worn-out, old, dusty,... More

To quote the reviewer: we are "a less-costly alternative to staying in Manhattan. Great location, close to bus line and the subway, and walking distance to the park and a few good breakfast joints." We agree with all of that, except to add that there are literally dozens of great breakfast joints within a few blocks, as well as restaurants,... More
