Anita is the hostess with the mostess! Had such a wonderful 2 days at this lovely lodge just outside of Fairbanks. Incredible Northern Lights can be viewed right on the property! This traditional B&B really feels like a home away from home and Anita cooks the best breakfasts... very highly recommended!

We stayed for 3 nights in early March of 2015. Northern Lights: We came specifically to this spot to see the Northern Lights and we heard this was a good spot to do it because it's just outside of Fairbanks and away from the city lights. The facility is set up perfectly for Northern Lights viewing. Our room looked North... More

I and my wife, our friends stayed here for Aurora on Dec 23, 2014. On that night, we are the only guest. After our arrival, the host gave us a very friendly welcome and showed us different rooms to let us decide which one we like. She also showed us where and how we can better observe the aurora. The... We manage to drive right to the Alaska Grizzly Lodge with NO problems. The roadway (even in December) was completely passable with no 'issues'. Though a little off the main roadway, it was easy to find. Anita (Lodge owner/landlady) had left us a nice note, since we arrived a good bit after our scheduled arrival, due to Aircraft/Airline delay! All... More

Our goals on this visit were to see the Aurora and the pipeline. We wanted to be outside of Fairbanks but were not interested in traveling an hour out of town to a large lodge with lots of people. The Alaska Grizzly Lodge was perfect! A short distance from Fairbanks, great breakfast, relaxed atmosphere, and great innkeeper. She even watched... More

We saw a very good northern lights in my room and the lodge outside, the lodge staff are very good, they gave me a lot of help, which is a good place to stay in Fairbanks.

Swiss Chalet style country B&B near Fairbanks. The rooms were quite large and comfortable and most had balconies. The great room with it’s overstuffed leather chairs and nearly wrap around windows was welcoming and bright. Use of the guest kitchen and laundry were perfect for independent travelers like ourselves. It’s located off a dirt road in a huge wooded lot.... More

We had no problems locating the lodge using our GPS. The rooms are on the first and second floors of the lodge. The owner lives on the third floor. Our family had 2 large rooms on the second floor and each room had a balcony [although given the mosquitoes these were not used] with each room having a private bath.... More

The place is a bit tricky to find, the signage is confusing, lacking an arrow pointing in the correct direction. Once there, Anita will take wonderful care of her guests. We had help with our (admittedly excessive) luggage. There is a second full kitchen, exclusively for use by the guests. One Indian family had just finished cooking a complete meal.... More

Only negative was the signage off the main road. This is not a luxury resort, but for those interested in spending time discovering central Alaska, this place is ideal. Just outside town, away from traffic and lights you can see the northern lights in the fall and use it as a launching pad for hunting, fishing, or exploring. Anita is... More
