Just completed my stay at the Mount Aurora Lodge. Was in Fairbanks for a week of work and selected the Mount Aurora Lodge for it's reasonable rate. The lodge is rustic from the outside but once inside the common area was very comfortable with a "staff" (more appropriately family) that is very helpful and knowledgeable of all things Alaska. Peaceful,... More

We stayed there for about one week. It closes to the downtown Fairbanks, only 50 minutes drive under light snow. They have aurora call so we would not miss it! We could just stay in the warm room and wait for the call. We needed to share the restroom with our neighbor but it was OK. We usually slept after... More

Very rustic but extremely clean and well decorated. Location cannot be beat. To see and photograph the lights all you have to do is walk out the door. They will even call you when the lights come out. We got some amazing pictures and had so much fun. A hot breakfast buffet is included and was very nice. Dinner is... More

My husband and I rented a room at the lodge for the sole purpose of seeing the Aurora Borealis. We talked with the hotel staff at length about the Aurora lights, etc. they showed us the best settings on our camera, that we could borrow a tripod, and how strong the lights were predicted. They assured us they would wake... More

When we found out this couple had not seen the lights we were heartbroken. We were in the next room when we heard our staff knocking on this guests door, when no one stirred it was assumed that they were already out enjoying the lights. Everyone else in the building was awoken by the knocking. The staff is not allowed... More

My boyfriend and stayed at the lodge for 5 nights in March 2015. The first 3 nights we were in a room with a shared Jack and Jill bathroom and that worked out fine. The last 2 nights we had one of the 2 room suites and that was even better. Not only did we have our own bathroom but... More

The lodge is located north of Fairbanks, on the top of a mountain, away from light pollution from south. Very nice lodge and host(Lori and Jeff). Super home made food (We had lamb rips that day) and tasty Alaskan BEER! Aurora can be seen every night as long as weather permits, and they do offer aurora wake up service. We... More

Let me start by saying we loved our stay, except for one issue. The positives: the food was great and plentiful; the environment was warm and homey; the night staff excelled in helping guests enjoy the best aurora experience. The only downside was a situation with the shared bathroom. We knew this was the situation, and our first night was... More

The lodge is an old gold miners bunkhouse converted into a tourist lodge. It's rustic, cozy, and provides the perfect atmosphere for viewing the aurora borealis. The rooms are minimal, and some share baths, but you won't care. You are there to see the lights, or do other activities in the area. Convenience is key. You go to bed and... More

My partner, my parents and I stayed here for 3 nights in August 2014 as the first stop of a 6 week Alaska/Canada trip and we could not have asked for a better place to start! Lori and Jeff were amazing hosts and were very welcoming for 4 very jet-lagged Aussies. Lori was able to accommodate my parents who do... More

I had a wonderful lifetime experience at Mount Aurora Lodge. My friends and my wife talked me into going to Alaska for my birthday. We searched online and found Mount Aurora Lodge in Fairbanks. It's highly rated by reviewers so we decided to book it for our trip. We stayed there for 4 nights and the service at lodge was... More
