I was in Fairbanks two weeks to photograph the Northern Lights. Two things made this travel memorable--first, the lights were dancing, and second, the stay at the Alaska Heritage House was wonderful. A bed and breakfast with a wonderful history shared by owners Van and Bill. I stayed in the Mary Lee Davis room which was quiet, comfortable and decorated... More

I needed a room for only one night and the best deal in town was the Heritage House. Van greeted me, showed me the ropes with a knowledgeable tour. The history in this house is incredible. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean and organized. Breakfast was a delight visiting with folks from around the globe. Bill and Van... More

We stayed with Alaska Heritage House in March of 2015 for 3 nights. Our experience was incredible. The house itself is a museum. It is carefully restored, and exquisitely decorated, with a lot of items being original to the house dating back to early 1900s. It is extremely clean. When we checked in, our room was spotless, bedding had very... More

I'm actually writing this review on behalf of my parents (who aren't the most tech-savvy), who had the opportunity to stay at the Alaska Heritage House in the summer of 2014 when visiting me here in Fairbanks for a week. This was their first experience at a B+B and they couldn't have been happier. They raved about the cleanliness (and... More

Thank you so much for your gracious review. You stressed cleanliness, and we work very hard at it. We steam the floors, bath fixtures and mattresses. We iron the sheets, pillow cases and cloth table napkins for our formal breakfast at our 150 year old dinning room table. It is gratifying to receive feedback that recognizes the effort we put... The hosts and owners are delighted to share stories of the... More

The beauty of the accommodations was matched by the warm hospitality of the owners. Very knowledgeable, interesting couple with wonderful culinary skills! To stay in a place that oozes history was a real treat! As were the delicious breakfasts made by Van and Bill! Came for one night and stayed for 4, and I am hoping to return in March... More

Alaska Heritage House is a wonderful place, inside and out, with a great history--which Van (your hostess) will relate to you. The House dates back to 1916, and its oak flooring, fixtures and furniture are original or faithful to the time period, except--happily--the mattresses, which are comfortably modern, and the heating system (although the original hot water radiators are still... Where can we start? The house is beautiful inside. Lots of history in this house. Van has the complete story (which by the way is very interesting to hear) of the history house. She gave us a quick tour of the rooms that were vacant and they were all gorgeous. Nothing bad to say about this place. The gourmet breakfast... More

Walked into the Alaska Heritage House and felt like we had stepped back in time - Victorian, gold-rush era, beautiful house! My husband and I fell into crisp white sheets and enjoyed the claw foot tub after a long flight to Alaska. The room and bathroom were immaculate and cozy at the same time. Breakfast was 5-star quality and hearty,... More

Pros: The decorations and furniture and the history behind it. Also the nice and friendly hosts. This is an awesome place. Love every single piece of furniture in here. The hosts are warm and welcoming. Even their dog was so cute and friendly. Definitely will stay over there again next time.
