I recently stayed at Billie's Backpackers Hostel with a friend trying to see the Northern Lights. Billie was very helpful in guiding us to great places within the city that would allow us to best see the lights. The other guests were very pleasant and fun to talk to. When I returned home to Oregon I realized I had lost... More

The host is very friendly and the decorations quite unique. People would chat during night in the living and make friends with each other. We've made several friends here and share our tips for each other. Also, the breakfast she provided is awesome!

My stay here was over 2 weeks. A lot of people came and went in that time. The hours here are open, since some people come for daytime activities, and some come for night/aurora's... others for various reasons too. The house rule is to be quiet and considerate of others, and for the most part people adhere to it. The... More

The northern light trip is wonderful especially when you find a warm place to stay. I and my friend lived here for three days. The first thing Billie tell us is keep quiet when others are sleeping in the bed room. A good sleep is very necessary after waiting a whole night of northern light. Coffee is prepared every morning.... More

We came here to Fairbanks for spring break and stayed at Billie's for 4 nights. The entire house is comfortable and warm like home and we got to meet many new friends from all over the world. We saw the aurora the first day arrived, just out of door! Strongly recommend to everyone!

My friend recommend me this place and it was really wonderful. Billie was a lovely host. She has an amazing collection of vintage items, which made the house like a mini museum. Cleanliness is awesome, everything in the house was clean and well organized. The common area (living room) was nice decorated with a great atmosphere. Location is great, parking... More

My family and I stayed in Billie's. Great host, nice hostel. The only thing would be there is not enough utensils to eat with when you have a larger group of people (There were 7 of us). If you are in fairbanks for the aurora, this is a good place. We saw aurora 2 nights in a roll!!

Billie was a wonderful host and very kind. Made me feel welcome and even recommended where to go to see the lights. The place, bed, and house was very clean. Clean is what I look for so this gets a 2 thumbs up from me. It is a older house with squeaky floors when you walk but again CLEAN IS... More
