I went to this resort, after reading the reviews, with high hopes and guarded expectations. Maybe that is why I had such an awesome time!! I was there with my husband and two adult children. Yes the accommodations are rustic. And mostly explained already here. But our room was just like the picture on their website. It was very warm... More

After reading some marginal reviews on trip advisor, my 3 friends and I were somewhat aprehensive about heading to Chena but we were pleasantly surprised. We did the 3 night package. The restaurant served high quality food (and we are all "foodies") the bar was warm and cozy with a good cocktail selection, the rooms in the Moose Lodge are... More

This not my first rodeo. Let me set this up. If you come to Fairbanks just be ready for "spotty"service. Some people here are "jewels" others will cut corners and try to rip you off. Welcome to the Hot Springs. First, there was NOWHERE to plug up my vehicle at -50, not that it matters much. My overnight stay was... More

Some might call it charm but there are elements of this resort that made it more annoying than charming. Rooms: The heat in the rooms was inconsistent and apparently not connected to any actual control system. The first night we were in the Moose Lodge (the nicer rooms) and while the room was OK--pretty basic but clean--the heat did not... More

To be most accurate, I must divide my review into two parts, when averaged = 3 star rating 1) The activities available at the resort: FIVE STARS! -Hot Springs: soak in hot mineral water surrounded by snowy views. Yes, the locker room is yucky, crowded and needs updating...but you're not spending much time there. -Ice museum: Fabulous ice sculptures, columns,... More

Ee went to see the northern lights but unfortunately were out of luck. However we did enjoy the hot springs rock pool and the ice museum. Their use of geo thermal energy for all their needs was educational. I loved their hydrponic lettuce. I have never tasted anything like it More

Tucked deep in a valley outside Fairbanks this place could be magical and very special. However, the owner opted for the "cheapo and lets not change anything" approach. The hot springs themselves are most wonderful and going there in the deepest winter is quit an experience being outside in soothing water while the temperature is sub zero. But unfortunately, this... Went to see the 'lights' (alas, Mother Nature had different ideas). The accommodation without being lavish was acceptable; it was clean, tidy and warm. The staff were at all times knowledgeable and very helpful. Of special note I would like to commend David in the dining room area for his outstanding attention to detail, knowledge, helpfulness and customer service. Thanks... More

I like Chena Hot Springs, and I visit when I am in the area, but I don't stay overnight because I don't find it to be worth it. The best thing about this place is sitting in a hot tub watching the wildlife pass, and its even better in the snow. There is a heavy sulfer smell from the hot... More

Never have I been so underwhelmed by something that was supposed to be a must-see attraction. We came for the hot spring pools, and those were great, but the facilities were filthy (crowded, no functioning toilets in the pool lockerrooms, $5 for towel service), the restaurant was overpriced and slow, and in general it just seemed like it could have...
