Allen greets you at the door with a big smile and a personally marked map showing you Fairbanks attractions and instructions on how to get to them. We rented the Hall house, a 2 BR house across the street. It's spotless and nicely decorated. The full kitchen (that we didn't use) is well equipped and there is all kinds of... More

Very nice studio at a good price. Allen and Verna were very pleasant hosts. We stayed in the studio apartment which is upstairs with the bathroom and dressing area downstairs. The upstairs is very room with a comfortable bed. The bathroom downstairs is also very roomy. Very clean and cozy. The refrigerator was stocked with lots of breakfast choices. This... More

We had a great time at Downtown Log Cabin Hideaway Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the room with the king-sized bed, and although it's never our first choice to have to go downstairs to the bathroom in the night, this is no great inconvenience when considered in the context of a very comfortable bed, very spacious room, lots and... Al and Verna were great hosts. We used the studio apartment and their emergency loft. Great value for money, great location. Al gave great recommendations for dinner, shopping etc. the food supplied in the fridge was more than enough. Bagels, muffins, eggs, bread, yoghurt. You want for nothing. They certainly are great hosts. We were only there for two nights as... More

Al and Verna very helpful, full of useful informations about Fairbanks and Alaska, conversation with them was a big pleasure for us. They gave us a map of the town with main attractions marked. Room was clean and confortable, Verna's breakfast was simply great.

This was a wonderful place to stay in Fairbanks, AK. The owners are helpful, considerate, and dedicated to making your stay a good experience. It was easy to locate in the downtown area and close to all facilities. The breakfast each morning was delicious and a great way to start off your sightseeing trip each day. The room rate is... More

We booked 2 nights at Al and Verna's 2-bedroom cottage as we were starting a Royal Caribbean Cruisetour departing from Fairbanks. I had several email conversations with Al while booking, and he was very helpful and informative before we even arrived in Fairbanks. Al picked up the four of us from the airport and delivered us to our little 2-bedroom... More

Al and Verna were quite friendly. We had the apartment and we were amazed that it was stocked with cereal, bread, bagels, eggs and Verna's delicious muffins. They left a detailed map of things to do in Fairbanks. There were a ton of raspberry bushes that Verna told us to help ourselves to and they were outstanding. We would definitly... More

The Downtown Log Cabin isn't really downtown, but rather in a quiet residential neighborhood near downtown; and isn't really a log cabin, except for Al and Verna's house. Our room was the "studio apartment" next door in a 2-story building with the bathroom downstairs, bedroom/ kitchenette upstairs. If you can't climb stairs it won't work for you (and Al made... More

If you like a B&B where you make small talk with strangers at morning breakfast, and love the lacy floral decor prevalent in many B&Bs, this is not for you. If, like us, you prefer to take care of your own breakfast and have a nice straightforward room, check this place out. We stayed in the studio apartment, which was... More
