This is a lovely inn in the heart of the historic section of Fredericksburg, a wonderful town. Our room was large and pretty. However some aspects of our stay were disappointing. On a sweltering day in June, the A/C in our room was off - the windows didn't open and there was only one small fan to provide some circulation.... More

I am so sorry this guest did not enjoy their visit. We try to accommodate everyone, pets included but there are restrictions on where the pets can go. I did serve these guests their breakfast in the courtyard so they have their pet join them. It states on our website that breakfast is extended continental during the week but you... More

I've just returned from another wonderful stay at the Richard Johston Inn, Fredericksburg, Virginia. I have been staying at the RJI for about the last 7 years - every time I get to visit Fredericksburg - and have always enjoyed myself. This last stay was in the Loft room, which offers privacy and lots of room, and is one of... More

The Richard Johnston Inn in Fredericksburg, VA is a lovely old house, very conveniently located right across from the visitors center. It is close to all the historic sights in the old town, and a mere three blocks from the railway station. There are plenty of restaurants and shops in the area as well. The Inn Keeper, Bonnie Lelys and... More

Great location, breakfast and service. We had a pleasant stay and the bed slept very well.

I only had one night at the inn, but it was a great experience from beginning to end. Olivia's Room had a canopy bed, fireplace and a totally modern bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and I got an enthusiastic, tail-wagging greeting from Bailey (or Scooter) on the way into breakfast. There was a big bowl of fresh fruit, quiche and... More

Stayed for a long weekend at RIchard Johnston Inn and it is in an ideal location right on the main street with a convenient parking lot and many dining and shopping opportunities right outside the door. We had the two room loft suite and it was very nicely furnished complete with a frig, microwave, coffee pot and tv with dvd... More

We were in town for a wedding, and being newlyweds ourselves, wanted to make the weekend romantic. This was a very cute and cozy inn with a very comfortable bed and bathroom... perfect for romance. And breakfast was wonderful! Bonnie is a wonderful cook! We didn't get to do much sight seeing since it was about 30 degrees during the... More

We stopped here en route from Florida to New York because it's not too far off I-95, but is a charming town. We stayed in the Frejus room, which is on the 3rd floor. When I discovered that my partner had booked a third floor walk-up I was a little discouraged because I was so tired after the trip, but... More

This is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms were gorgeous - I stayed in December and all the rooms had Christmas trees in them. My room was even more spacious than I expected and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the location can't be beat, as the inn is right in the heart of Fredericksburg's historical... More

We stay at a B & B anywhere between two to four times a month all over the US. I highly reccomned the Richard Johnson Inn. Location is fantastic. The house has a great dela of charm (I understand it dates back to the 1770s). Breakfast is an "Extended Continental" which we were not very fond off, when we asked... More
