We have just returned from Fredericksburg, VA where we stayed for a night on our way back from Washington, DC. We hadn't planned on stopping, but our car broke down on 95 and we didn't have a choice. We booked The Richard Johnston Inn by phone and they were wonderful. After having our car towed to the local dealership, Bonnie,... More

We stayed in "Old Town" which is a large attic room. Everything was provided that we could want - comfortable bed, sofa, magazines, hairdryer, robes, plenty of towels, tv with dvds to borrow if you wish, even a decanter of brandy, and ample parking at the back. Much better equipped than I would normally expect of a B & B.... More

My Husband and I stayed at the RJ Inn for our 3rd anniversary. We had been contemplating about which B&B to try, since this was our first experience. After reading the reviews about RJ and navigating their website, we decided to give it a try. I called Bonnie to see if they had the Loft available (mind you, only 4... More

We centralised our high school class reunion (yes the 50th) at the RJI, located in old town, with a real taste of old Fredericksburg while Bonnie, the Inn Keeper, anticipated our every need. We enjoyed the ambiance and the staff were always friendly, professional and they allowed us to feel "at home". We chatted in the parlor, reveled in the... More

I just returned from a four day stay at the Richard Johnston Inn. This is not the first time I have stayed there but it is my first visit since major renovations and upgrades were done. This B&B is magnificent and I have never had such a wonderful experience anywhere else that I have stayed. It was really hard to... More

We traveled to Fredericksburg to run the Marine Corps Historic Half-Marathon. Bonnie, the Innkeeper, was incredibly responsive to the needs of the runners and setup a pasta dinner the night prior, created special breakfasts the day of the race, and provided shuttle service to/from the race. Her efforts went beyond the call of duty and made a great stay even... More

My husband and I visited the Inn for our 23rd anniversary. We were in the Fres Jus room - it is a beautiful room at the top of the house (reportedly haunted, but alas we did not meet the ghosts) with an absolutely fantastic king size bed and an adequate en suite bath (the house was built in the 1770's... My sister and I stayed in the "Kitchen Room" at the Richard Johnston Inn in downtown Fredericksburg. It was a large room with two double beds. Very comfy. It was not only a lovely Inn, but the innkeeper, Bonnie was a delight. We look forward to visiting again sometime in the future. Dot Frano, Braintree, MA Gerri Hales, Vero Beach,... More

Cozy room, very clean all over, and great breakfasts! The Inn is also right downtown, so you literally step out onto the main street of Fredericksburg. A very relaxing getaway for the weekend.

The Inn was simply beautiful. Bonnie is a fantastic host. The town is wonderful and so friendly. Having never been to the area before we absolutely fell in love with it. It is now a place we would consider retiring to some day. I would recommend the Inn over a hotel any day. Bonnie fabulous job, and great cookbook too!!... More
