A small group of us spent the weekend planning our sorority's annual calendar. The courtyard was a perfect place to meet for discussions and relaxing. Since we were in the middle of town, we had no issues with coordinating driving for dining and shopping. It was very convenient to park in the lot behind the Inn. We all felt able... More

We had a great Memorial Day weekend at the Richard Johnston Inn. We booked this as a "girls" weekend of shopping and enjoying the town. My sister and our teenage daughters stayed in the "Kitchen House". It is a cozy room just off of the lovely courtyard. Very charming. The beds were soft and very comfortable. Breakfast is amazing !!... More

We booked on St. Patrick's Day weekend so we would be in an area that had an Irish Pub, a parade, and a block party. We weren't disappointed. The pub is next door and the parade takes place on the street in front of the inn. The block party was half a block away. Bonnie and her two adorable dogs... More

The Richard Johnston Inn is charming. To a Southerner, that just about says it all. My room was large, the bed comfortable, my bathroom modern and clean, and the room was well appointed. I will stay there again when I visit my daughter at the U of Mary Washington.

We loved the Richard Johnston Inn which is located in the historic district of Fredericksburg and within a short walk to wonderful restaurants and shops. The innkeeper, Bonnie, outdid herself to make our stay comfortable. Her gourmet breakfast was served in the elegant formal dining room and was positively deliscious. Our courtyard room was large with 2 opulant queen beds... More

I wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting historic Fredericksburg - the RJI has it all - location, quality and great southern hospitality! Perfect for a romantic getaway or a girls weekend of shopping & fine dining!

This historic inn provides all the benefits of a well-run B&B in the center of historic Fredericksburg. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to assist with information, reservations, etc. The rooms are beautifully furnished and comfortable. The home-made breakfast was a treat !

The Richard Johnston Inn was perfect. The innkeeper was a delight and her blueberry french toast and apple sausage was even more delightful. I can't wait to go back.

We walked down Caroline Street many times and in passing the Richard Johnson Inn, would glance inside the windows that faced the street. Inside were wonderful things. Especially at Christmas, standing outside across the street, in the cold waiting for the parade to begin. The childrens faces looking out those same windows evoked an earlier age. The year before, our... More

I brought my mother to the Richard Johnson Inn in Fredericksburg, Virginia for her 83rd birthday the early part of December 2005. What stuck us both was the attention to detail, not only the decor of the Inn itself but the fabulous Christmas decorations. Our accommodations for the weekend were in the Kitchen room downstairs our jaws dropped when we... More
