Overnight trip to Fredericksburg, VA for my birthday. Did a goggle search for B&Bs and choose the Richard Johnston Inn and could not have been more pleased. The staff was very professional but also with lots of personality. Even an ice bucket with a bottle of wine waiting for me as a birthday gift!! Choose the Isabella Suite and it... More

What a charming inn. We stayed in the old kitchen and the room was clean and comfortable. The Innkeeper and staff were very nice and whipped up the most amazing breakfast. Keep an eye out for signs of Toby and creaky floors. Since this property is across from the Rappahannock River, the Inn's history is entrenched in Civil War stories.... More

My husband and I stayed in The Loft room for our first wedding anniversary for two nights. It was marvelous. The house and gardens are beautifully decorated and the staff welcoming. The Loft was incredible. The first floor is the bathroom and living room. Up the spiral staircase is the king bed and little sitting area. So fabulous. And don't... More

We had stayed at the inn once before so knew to use advanced reservations. We had booked the Kitchen House room, just off the courtyard. There had been a temporary issue with the air conditioning in that room but it really wasn't too bad. We were given a choice of other rooms at the same price or less to move... More

This is a beautiful historic house, in a perfect location with excellent off street parking. The breakfast was absolutely superb.Fredericksburg has antique shops and good restaurants. We liked Le Petit Auberge. Highly recommended

We climbed exterior rear stairs with our bags, and then steep, interior stairs as well, deposited our bags, freshened up, and found glasses and ice for drinks which we had in the rear courtyard. It could have been quite pleasant, but the courtyard was less than pristine. We went out for dinner and returned at about 9, exhausted. We again... More

We recently enjoyed another stay at this wonderful Inn. We've stayed in many B&B's and this is the BEST. I especially recommend the Riley Suite, where you will enjoy an amazing bathroom, convenience to the first floor and kitchen, and a double-sided fire place. Equally matching the Riley Suite quality is the professionism of Innkeeper Lindi. She exceeded all our... More

My boyfriend and I wanted a get-a-way together and we love bed and breakfast. I did some research and ran across Richard Johnston Inn. We stayed in The Loft. It was amazing. The layout of the room is perfect. We would sit downstairs and just look around the room and be amazed and see what we wanted to do in... More

This is an exceptional B & B in the heart of Fredericksburg in which to explore the Civil War sites in this area of Virginia. The breakfasts are superior as are the restaurants near the inn. Many famous sites of both the American Revolutionary War and the Civil War are near the inn.

My family and I had a family reunion here, and it could not have been better in any way! Delicious home-made breakfasts, made to order in a luxurious and beautiful dining room setting. All the staff were fun, yet kindly accommodating to our every single need. Our rooms were luxurious (I would recommend The Loft!), and the beds wonderfully comfortable.... More
