This is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms were gorgeous - I stayed in December and all the rooms had Christmas trees in them. My room was even more spacious than I expected and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the location can't be beat, as the inn is right in the heart of Fredericksburg's historical... more

We stay at a B & B anywhere between two to four times a month all over the US. I highly reccomned the Richard Johnson Inn. Location is fantastic. The house has a great dela of charm (I understand it dates back to the 1770s). Breakfast is an "Extended Continental" which we were not very fond off, when we asked... more

My husband and I had a great stay at Richard Johnston recently. The candles were lit and that made the house look even more beautiful during the fall morning and evening. We came down for breakfast at 730am and the table looked so beautiful and welcoming. I have never been able to get decaf coffee at any B&B except for... more

Lovely accomodations, elegant rooms and knowledgeable innkeeper. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Richard Johnston Inn in Fredericksburg, VA. It was quiet despite being in the middle of Old Town Fredericksburg and oh so convenient to the shops - all within easy walking distance. The innkeeper, Bonnie, was a very gracious hostess and had excellent recommendations for dining and... more

If your lodging ideal is B&B, this is the place to stay in Fredericksburg. Very friendly, very convenient in the heart of historic Fredericksburg, breakfasts that are out-of-this-world good. Bonnie, Laura, Sharon and staff are all very friendly and helpful. Because of its location, it is easy to walk to most of the historic sites in the city. Jack &... more

We booked a room here for one night at the end of a family vacation in the Outer Banks; we had never been to Fredricksburg, but we had heard about it from our son who lives in DC. What an unexpected and thoroughly delightful stay it turned out to be! The Innkeeper, Bonnie put us at ease as she showed... more

I stayed at the Inn with my family while we attended a wedding in Fredericksburg. Everything about the Inn was lovely. The rooms were well appointed. The Inn itself was welcoming on a very hot day in the town. THe garden was especially beautiful. Our innkeeper was gracious and we all had a memorable experience. more

After months of searching for the perfect location to host my best girlfriend's baby shower, I decided on the Richard Johnston Inn. I'm glad I did because the service has been fantastic. The inn keeper, Bonnie, has been so very flexible in accomodating my schedule to travel from Northern Virginia to Fredericksburg for planning. When I met with her, she... more

The Wedding of Colin MacKinnon and Ashley Morton was held in the court yard of the Richard Johnson Inn on June 20, 2009. Bonnie, the Innkeeper was not at all accomodating nor did she keep her word on what the Inn would do during the event. Every meeting/ phone call was not handled proffessionally, she shrugged us off to the... more

This wedding was managed by my assistant, a friend of the brides, who SHE called and kept in constant contact with. MY ASSISTANT ASKED TO HANDLE THIS EVENT BECAUSE OF THEIR FRIENDSHIP. The day of the wedding, it poured rain at noon and we were out there with mops etc to clean up the courtyard and the dancefloor because the...

I had a wonderful time at this B and B. My room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was quite comfortable and offered a sound night's sleep. Breakfasts were quite enjoyable. The inn is centrally located to the historic district, which is quite lovely, and to a number of excellent restaurants, yet offers quiet rooms. The manager, Bonnie, was quite... more
