We stayed here one night only en route from NY to FL. We picked the campground rather than a hotel because we thought it would be more fun for the kids and we liked the idea of just pulling up to our cabin without having to fully unload the car. We arrived after dark, which was tough since it was... More

While driving down I-95, I opted for a cabin at this KOA instead of a hotel room. I knew ahead of time that I needed my own linens, so I was prepared. The deluxe cabin was spotless and so cute. Smelled wonderful ... like the beautiful walls. Great for two little kids and two adults. There is a futon, but... More

Because this campground is about 10 minutes off Route 95 we picked it on our way home. The campground was easy to find. The people who checked us in were very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms were very modern and clean. There are lots of trees but our site was level. The pull-thru site allowed us to keep the toad... More

The office restrooms and showers were nice but the grounds were just adequate. We wondered when we arrived, why is no one outside? We found out. While walking the dogs, it was very dark, something was moving in the grass but you couldn't tell what it was. As we were returning to the RV and light by the door, we... More

My wife and I have stayed at KOA campgrounds from Virginia or Oregon, and I have to say that the KOA at Fredricksburg, VA is one of two of the nicest KOAs we have ever seen. (The other is Natural Bridge, VA.)

We stayed here for one night during April, 2015 in our 35 foot motorhome while traveling home from a vacation down South. The campground is located between two exits off of interstate 95 and while less than 10 minutes to food and fuel, it was a bit inconvenient to get to the campground. The staff was friendly and showed us... More

We had reservations at the KOA in Fredericksburg and since it was the 2014 Campground of the Year & had won several other awards we had high hopes. I can honestly say I would prefer to pay to park at a Walmart before I go back. We we got escorted down to the site, it was along the side of... More

We reserved a spot at mid-day. By the time we arrived , there were no more available spots. With our small RV , we were placed on a site with full hook-ups that was shorter than most , but was great for us. The next morning we had very little problem backing out to the road and getting on our... More

The owner of the KOA knows absolutely nothing about customer service and does not value her customers or their repeat business. Before leaving this campground I tried to discuss my complaint with the owner "Susan" and give her a chance to make up for our inconvenience but she refused. On a rainy Sunday afternoon we arrived at this KOA and... More

KOA is not so much a franchise as a branding. Quality among the hundreds of KOA Campgrounds varies widely, depending mostly on the owners and their attitude toward guests as well as upkeep of the facility. The Fredericksburg/Washington KOA is one of the best. It's about four miles east of noisy I-95 in a small valley with easy turns for... More
