Stayed two nights over a weekend while attending a nephew's wedding, also on the property. Room was exceptionally clean and well prepared. WIFI worked great. Pleasant atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. Many antiques added to aura. Coffee, tea & cookies available in a room off the lobby throughout the day. Plenty of parking. Inn located about 4 blocks from... More

Very clean comfortable and safe. Downtown sites are not really walkable but very short drive . Nice decor and antiques . Cozy with lots of charm. Breakfast was adequate nothing special but great coffee and I thought it was thoughtful that they provided gluten-free cereal and a variety of bagels. Very good price!

Be forewarned! The photos on the hotel website do not convey that the hotel is in a strip mall across the street from a Hardee's. There is a tire store and several gas stations nearby. We were expecting a slightly more. . .historic setting. However, it's only a few blocks to the center of historic Fredericksburg. Having said that, the... More

We stayed here once or twice a year over the past four while our daughter was at Mary Washington. It is clean and comfortable, no fussy B&B pretentiousness, love the Civil War memorabilia. Convenient to everything. Just a nice and stress free place to stay. We love Suite 205!

In general, the Inn at the Olde Silk Mill is a lovely, historic place and I'm glad we stayed there but I would not stay there again because the beds are uncomfortable and I felt like an environmental felon letting the water run waiting for it to get hot (they warn you "8 to 10 minutes" and they really mean... We stayed last weekend for a wedding and had a great time! The building is historic so there were not many modern upgrades but the bed was ridiculously soft and comfortable. We did have to wait for the water to heat up in the shower but not a big deal. The wedding venue has a lot character and was perfect... More

"This is an old building" is the excuse. I'm sorry, but I grew up in a town built in 1632 and I've stayed in hotels in much older buildings. It's no excuse to not update the plumbing so that guests get water when they turn on the tap. It's no excuse for broken tiles in the bathroom, broken, grungy taps... More

The Inn is centrally located and one can reach the Historic District of Fredericksburg by foot. The staff was very friendly and also the welcome mail with driving directions before arrival was comforting. Yes - it an older house - and you have to wait for warm water - but the hotel did mention that with a note in the... More

It has a great location if you want to visit the old downtown area. It's a 15 minute walk or a very short drive. The room was clean and neat. It's very small. There was a bed, a small dresser and 1 chair in the room and no room for a desk or anything else. There was a small wardrobe... More

Fredricksburg, Va is a great location for those that appreciate the creative work of artists and artisans....wonderful works at a variety of galleries (visual arts, literary arts, fine crafts). The restaurants are wonderful and the Olde Silk Inn is well situated for a pleasant walk to downtown. While not in the center of downtown, the few blocks of walking to... More
