I stayed at The Bertram Inn for three nights recently while visiting my son, a Boston University student. The Inn is lovely and I enjoyed my stay, however there were a couple of things that need attention. The carpet in my room (#15) was visibly dirty and worn. No amount of vacuuming would solve the problem. It needs to be... More

After several stays here and the now closed sister inn (Sewall Inn), we have to write to say how convenient and comfortable all our stays have been. On-site parking, great breakfasts, comfortable beds, easy access to the T, walking distance to BU.... All of our needs and wants are met. We love staying in a place with a neighborhood feel.

This was our first trip to Boston, and I wanted to stay in a place with historic significance. My husband booked us in the Bertram Inn and I loved it from the moment I walked in the doors. It's charming! The service is superb and the room was huge! Everything was clean and the bed super luxurious. The towels were... More

Our family stayed, for the second year in a row, at a wonderful bed and breakfast in Boston (Brookline). The Bertram Inn is a beautiful, old mansion, with exquisite rooms and furnishings, a fabulous breakfast (no fast-food; it is cooked, each morning, from scratch) and attentive staff, who can even get you tickets to the Red Sox and other sporting... All hotels were booked in Boston, where a colleague and I went on a 2 day/1 night business trip. But we found this gem, a lovely B&B perfect for business or leisure. The rooms where comfortable with excellent bedding and shower. The welcome and service was outstanding: they agreed to receive our many boxes of materials for our event, and... More

This place is so comfortable. You are welcomed like family. There are snacks out all day and the breakfasts are great. The location makes it easy to get around by T or car. Great choice. I'm a repeat visitor. It's my home base when I'm in Boston.

I stayed here with my son (in a separate room) in January 2012. We were impressed right from the first moment after our arrival. My room was gorgeous and my son's was lovely too. There is a lovely sitting room where we met up with local friends who were meeting us for dinner (our friends actually arrived before we did... More

We booked this for the appeal of a smaller, more friendly hotel. Upon arrival we were told that Room 5 had no en suite, and whilst in the small print it said this was the case, for $681 for three nights it hadn't occurred to us that you would not have this as standard. The room itself was in need... More

Dear Joolesv8, Thank You for bringing the conditions of the room’s care to our attention, As innkeepers we heavily rely on our guests to let us know when objects and parts of the home are in need of repair, as it is rare when we have the ability to utilize a keen eye for these details! While in Boston for 3 weeks, I had the pleasure of staying at the Bertram Inn as well as the Samuel Sewall Inn due to a mistake made by my department's secretary. I moved between rooms quite a number of times during my stay and as a result, I was able to see a great number of rooms during this... More
