This gracious inn, once a private home, is a close walk to the heart of Brookline, and a relative bargain in the Boston area. The parking is easy and free, and right behind the inn is a lovely park to walk or jog in, with a playground, as well. The immaculate kitchen is available for cooking, and you'd be proud... More

My wife and I stayed here for our for days in the Boston-metro area, and it was fabulous. The staff was great, and all aspects of our stay were extremely enjoyable. While the room was small and had some odd angles ( our slant was in the bathroom rather than the bedroom), I would not let this deter me from... More

I go to Boston regularly and have stayed at the Longwood Inn several times. I always find the people there to be friendly. Perhaps that has something to do with working at this charming hotel located a short distance from Coolidge Corner in Brookline. More important to the weary traveler is the comfort of the beds, cleanliness of the rooms,... More

We spent 2 nights in May, 2010 in room #34 on the 3rd floor, which was extremely cramped and stuffy even with the A/C on. It was a little bigger than the size of a walk in closet, believe it or not! We had to bend over to get into the bed to avoid hitting our heads on the slanted... More

I am so pleased that I DIDN’T listen to the ‘nay-sayers.’ The Longwood Inn is a charming, cozy no frills inn that also happens to be the most economical deal in Boston. I admit that I was assigned one of the last few rooms that has yet to be remodeled. But the room and bathroom were VERY clean. Bed, pillows... More

If you want a convenient, economical place to stay during a visit to Boston and vicinity, the Longwood is a good choice. An easy walk to the T, a great neighborhood for exploring, a clean modern kitchen for food preparation and a charming Victorian dining room for eating it in, and a reasonable room price combined to make this a... The elegant wooden entrance is enchanting as you walk into this old Victorian style inn. The room was immaculate with comfortable bed, furniture and cable TV. The staff was very personable and helpful. It is conveniently near restaurants and the T but for the budget minded there is an equipped kitchen to bring and prepared your own food plus a... More

Stayed on the third floor in a standard room. It was pretty cramped and you had to bend over to avoid the slanted ceiling to get into the bed. Overall it would have been ok except for 2 main problems. 1. The bed we stayed in was severely uncomfortable, thin and worn-out. After a sleepless first night, I actually flipped... More

We enjoyed a pleasant 3 day stay with easy walk to train (the "T"), to several excellent ethnic restaurants, and to Trader Joe's. Very friendly and accomodating staff. Great kitchen facilities for guest use. Rooms have been renovated using first class materials and furnishings. Beautiful old wood lobby and sitting room. Free parking. Very reasonable room rates. We are already... More
