If you want a convenient, economical place to stay during a visit to Boston and vicinity, the Longwood is a good choice. An easy walk to the T, a great neighborhood for exploring, a clean modern kitchen for food preparation and a charming Victorian dining room for eating it in, and a reasonable room price combined to make this a... The elegant wooden entrance is enchanting as you walk into this old Victorian style inn. The room was immaculate with comfortable bed, furniture and cable TV. The staff was very personable and helpful. It is conveniently near restaurants and the T but for the budget minded there is an equipped kitchen to bring and prepared your own food plus a... More

Stayed on the third floor in a standard room. It was pretty cramped and you had to bend over to avoid the slanted ceiling to get into the bed. Overall it would have been ok except for 2 main problems. 1. The bed we stayed in was severely uncomfortable, thin and worn-out. After a sleepless first night, I actually flipped... More

We enjoyed a pleasant 3 day stay with easy walk to train (the "T"), to several excellent ethnic restaurants, and to Trader Joe's. Very friendly and accomodating staff. Great kitchen facilities for guest use. Rooms have been renovated using first class materials and furnishings. Beautiful old wood lobby and sitting room. Free parking. Very reasonable room rates. We are already... More

I stayed here for a night while interviewing in Boston, and I was really happy with the experience. The room I stayed in was clean and seemed to be recently renovated. The inn itself a very nice building in a good neighborhood. Overall, I think it is an excellent choice for the price. The only complaint I have is that... More

Do not get fooled by the convenient location of this hotel - this is the only good thing about it. I stayed there for 4 nights during the week. The hotel is old and not well kept. There was not a single staff member available at any time during my stay. On the final night of my stay I entered... More

Our experience was OK, but next time I'm in the area, I'll try a different hotel. In short: The good: - The location was perfect (love Brookline) - The inn looks charming and is generally clean - Low price for the neighborhood - Free wi-fi The bad: - Our bed was as hard as the floor, the blankets were thin,... This and the Samuel Sewall Inn are very similar as they are both bed and breakfasts in Brookline and are only a block or so apart and conveniently located a block or two from the metro stop. I stayed at them both in May and prefer this one because our room had an air conditioner, nice TV, and there was... More
