We just stayed (only one night) at the Longwood Inn and really enjoyed the place as far as atmosphere, ambiance, and its location in Brookline. Agree with other travelers that this is more of a couples place vs. a family location. We roomed on the third floor--no elevator so if one has trouble climbing stairs, make sure they get the... We stayed at the Longwood Inn over New Years and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hotel itself is a beautifully decorated Victorian-style house, and it was super convenient to be able to walk to Coolidge Corner, Trader Joe's, several restaurants and the T-Stop. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We would definitely... More

A very clean, comfortable place to stay for a weekend in Boston. Probably a better place for two then a family. There is a kitchen where you can have a cup of coffee or store food in their fridge. If you are creative you can even try cooking. Rooms are modern, clean though a little in the smaller side. The... More

What a beautiful place, and what a lovely experience....if you need a generic, corporate kind of efficiency and anonymity for your stay in Brookline, choose the Mariott. If you appreciate a more stately pace, and the pleasures of a beautifully appointed, lovingly restored old mansion -- including a fully equipped kitchen where you can assert your own independence vis a... The Longwood Inn is in a quiet and beautiful area with lots of other stately homes. My friend and I stayed in a room with two queen beds up the upper floor - on the plus side, the room was HUGE (we had four suitcases between us, all open on the floor and could still walk around easily), but unfortunately... I stayed at the Longwood Inn over Columbus Day Weekend. I was treated well by the staff and was "worked in" to a heavily booked inn by John, the manager. They were very willing to accomodate my stay, even if it meant moving me into a different room halfway through my 4 day stay. I would recommend this inn to... More

Love the charm of this inn. Set in the twenties, the decor is well maintained. The rooms were clean, freshly painted, TV with cable and most of all quiet. The staff was nice. There is a shared kitchen. That would be my only complaint, that they didn't offer any breakfast, not even fruit or cereal bars. But other than that,... More

We stayed for 8 nights when I was attending a conference and my wife came along to be a tourist. The price was very good when compared to all the other options in the Longwood Medical area. It was a charming old house with new bath and kitchen fixtures. The location was excellent: short walk to my conference location and... More

We arrived on a very wet and windy day to start our visit to Boston. Nobody in reception, rang the bell, waited again...5 minutes later a woman arrived, flustered saying she had been in her apartment, not heard the bell......No welcome, just a list of things that we couldn't do...did however finish off with giving us a phone number should...
