This is an old, dated property that is showing its age. However the room was clean and looks as though it was recently updated. The view from the river view rooms is very nice. The staff were very friendly. The hotel has bicycles available for guests to use, which is a cool touch. Not the most comfortable bed I've slept... More

For the price, it's a very good room. The wallpaper is peeling a little and the paint in the bathroom is a little chipped, but it was quiet, clean, and functional. The room came with free wi-fi, in-room coffee, and a flat-screen TV. All functioned well. The bed was comfortable, although the pillow was a bit thick. I'd definitely stay... More

Had a room with a view of the river and loved waking up to that view every morning. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. Check in folks were great! Downfalls: when I visited there was some major construction in the parking lot, made parking and navigating difficult. Restaurant was very expensive and you had to travel a little ways... More

My first impression of the hotel was that it was well past its prime. It turns out that my intuition was correct given that it's slated for demolition and the chain has not been willing to invest in upgrades. The hotel is quite expensive and a poor value for the money.

We have stayed at this hotel before, and have always been very satisfied. The gentleman on the front desk was nice, professional and very helpful. The only problem we had, was finding the place. There was construction going on, and the detour was very misleading.

We're a retired couple who stayed here on a Sunday night in March, as part of a long car trip. We really enjoyed the location, right on the Columbia River. Before dinner, we hiked a couple of miles up and down the river walkway and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the interesting signs about the history of the area. Then... More

First visit to Portland and we didn't want to stay in some high-rise chain hotel. Found this little gem right on the bank of the Columbia River and enjoyed the heck out of it. It's only a few miles from downtown Portland, which is easy to get to via Uber or public transit, and is a block away from downtown... More

I will not stay at another Red Lion again! We got to the room and noticed ants in the bathroom, and when we finally brought it up to the front desk they asked if we had food in the room. Yes we had our kids staying with us so there was popcorn on the floor, however we noticed the ants... More

We like this hotel for the added bonus of sitting on the deck outside our room and enjoying the planes flying low to land at PDX, the geese and sea lions in the river and the barges and boats sailing by. They have a great bar and a restaurant to grab breakfast before heading out. WLots of bed pillows and... More

The service is terrific! All the guys at the front desk are sweet, accommodating, and so very polite! The housekeepers are wonderful! The beds and pillows are fluffy and I always sleep soundly when I'm there. I just love it! I'm so looking forward to staying there again.... Hopefully soon and a longer stay.
