Me and my husband stayed four days @ the Courtland Hotel and I loved it so much I did not want to leave..We were visiting family and if you love the history of old towns such as Fort Scott, you will enjoy the complimentary history lesson that owner Frank will give. The hospitality was remarkable..You were not a stranger in... More

Room a little small but quaint. We had room 2. I think room 12 is a little larger with a bath tub rather than only a shower. Downtown within walking distance to some of the historic features of Fort Scott. Highlight would be the management. Frank is very helpful with whatever inquiry you may have about the city. Two restaurants... More

A great place to get away for the weekend. There's nothing like having a great massage by a well trained professional in a beautifully decorated historic building, then going straight to your room and taking a nap before dinner. I highly recommend the Courtland Hotel. We've stayed here twice this year. The owners are very in touch with their customers... More

This 1906 two story hotel in historic Fort Scott has been redone by the friendly, helpful owners. It boasts ornate tin ceilings, a wooden staircase, wallpapered rooms and antiques. It's a trip back to 1906 travel accommodations with modern amenities added.

Cheryl and Frank were very welcoming and gave us a small tour of the hotel complete with lots of history facts, which I was very interested in. Cheryl made us feel at home and made sure we had everything we needed. My daughter was pleased with the wi-fi setup and the mini-fridge hiding in a cabinet.

My son and I stayed at this hotel in July 2015. We were traveling from Missouri to Nebraska and Fort Scott seemed like a good stopping point. We contacted the owners in advance as we knew that we'd be arriving late. The management was very receptive and welcoming. They've done a nice job restoring the establishment (that dates back to... Cheryl and Frank are truly amazing and talented. The level of service is absolutely amazing, and more than makes us up for the quaint size of a few of the rooms. The Spa is wonderful, and the staff are very good at what they do!

I recently came home to Fort Scott on leave and spent 10 days at the Courtland. Frank & Cheryl are excellent hosts. My room was squeaky clean and extremely comfortable. No trip to historic Ft. Scott is complete without a stay at the Courtland. It is within strolling distance of most of the towns historical attractions and over a half... More

The Courtland was originally a 19th century railroad hotel and has been lovingly restored by former and current owners. It has a tremendous amount of charm and the manager has a wealth of local information. There is no elevator or pool, but there is a lot of history and architectural beauty. The hotel also includes a full service spa. Certainly... More
