My daughter & I stayed her for a mother - daughter weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our visit! We had the room with one full and one twin size bed, and as others mentioned, it was small. But it was so clean, so charming and so comfortable - that "small" didn't matter! It was decorated as it may have been in... More

Great place to stay rooms are small but the history of why is awesome. The innkeepers are knowledgeable about the history of the building and area and go out I the way to make sure you have a pleasant stay. So many updates to bring a piece of history to modern day. Hope to come back many times.

A very friendly and helpful innkeeper. Spacious rooms. Clean and well kept. The hotel was built long ago as a place for people to stay who were passing through on the rail road. We could hear train whistles ... but hey didn't bother. It's part of the atmosphere. Today the hotel's been restored. New it's not and the age shows... More

I was absolutely impressed by my stay at the Courtland Hotel. Before I even arrived, I received a voice mail concerning my arrival time. It was a very personal touch. At arrival, I was stunned to see this was an older inn with a lot of charm and history. The owner was extremely friendly and showed me to my room.... More

My husband and I had an excellent overnight stay at the Courtland Hotel. From the time we checked in, the owner, Frank was very welcoming and accomodating. Our room was comfortable and very clean. I highly recommend this establishment for a time in Fort Scott.

This is a historic hotel that has been renovated. Our room was decorated very cute and was comfortable. Frank, the owner was very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit small and I would have found it difficult to stay more than 1 night. No elevator, so be prepared to climb stairs. There are several restaurants within walking distance.

Recently stayed at Courtland to attend a family funeral. Frank & Cheryl are a pleasure, worked with us. Rooms are cozy, quaint. Neat, historic building. I've been to Fort Scott lots over the decades. Being in "old Fort Scott" was nice, much more relaxing than being right on highway as are all other hotels. Basic continental breakfast, but that's all... More

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our afternoon of bliss yesterday with Patti, Cheryl and Brandi at the Courtland Hotel. They helped to make my dear friends and I's daughters' birthdays extra special - thank you!!! We hated to leave their hospitality and expertise and are already planning future visits!! Way to go girls for running a first-class establishment!!... More

Easy to book and everyone I spoke with was so nice. We booked a trip for the weekend while my husband was going hunting. We had the hunt cancelled by the deer ranch after planning a trip all the way from Texas. The hotel was so nice about it and even gave me advice to get our deposit back on... More
