We were staying for two nights with one full day to get a feel for Savannah. The Thunderbird Inn is an old style American Motel with free easy parking out front and a large clean room. Make sure to check if there are special rates available - we were e-mailed with a special rate after we had booked but had... more

We chose the Thunderbird Inn because it looked funky and was the cheapest choice close to the historic district of Savannah. Yet we were not so lucky with our room right above the reception. The carpets were badly stained and needed to be replaced. They didn't smell but you didn't want to walk around barefoot either. The bed was not very... more

My husband and I were traveling with our dog to Savannah. We wanted a place within walking distance of the historic distance, but that did not charge an arm and a leg for pet fees. We found that in the Thunderbird. I spoke to Mark on the phone who was very helpful and told me about dog friendly pubs and... more

My friend and I on a whim decided to spend the weekend in Savannah. I was looking mostly for convenience, and value and got much more than I expected! Our stay at the hotel was perfect! I was greeted by the friendliest most helpful staff. We arrived hours before check in and were allowed to leave our car parked there.... more

This is a vintage motel- nothing more, nothing less. Rooms on the ground floor open directly onto parking area. Nothing wrong with the room except for a very small bathroom with no room for a sink. Rooms ok otherwise - clean with good beds. Check-in OK except the rate for the room was higher than originally booked - it was sorted... more

Nick was great, he helped us with directions and great places for cocktails! Love the fact we didn't have to pay a parking fee per day like our friends down the street and the Historical district was only 1 or 2 blocks away and we were able to walk everywhere from the hotel. We stayed in room 206 which was... more

Want to stay in downtown Savannah, within short walking distance of everything, but don't want to pay $200 a night for a room? Then the Thunderbird Inn is just the place for you. The Thunderbird often charges less than half of what those other fancy downtown hotels charge, and offers plenty of the same amenities. As a former resident of... more

We arrrived late and were received at the front desk witha big welcome. Rooms are clean, bedding white and comfortable. Thunderbird Inn is a fifties decor. Krispy creme donuts served for breakfast! Yikes, of course we indulged before heading out for the day. A few times, we were shorted bath towels, and were provided pronto with enough. It's affordable, clean,... more

My review is to compliment NICK who from my booking to the completion my stay made this trip to Savanah a delight. He welcomed us with a bright smile and sure that all of our needs and wants were addressed and handled in a timely and hospitable matter. Also he had one of his staff Anitra cater to our every... more
