Pros: pretty good location, comfortable beds, excellent service!!!! Cons: rooms are very small and the extra fees seem a bit much (parking, pet fee, etc) but we would probably stay here again. Loved the 60s theme.

We stayed at the Thunderbird for 5 days. It is an older hotel (built in the early 60s as I remember) but the rooms have been renovated in the last few years. It is pure 60s styling, with oldies tunes coming from the speakers in the lobby, such as it is. The beds were comfortable and the A/C worked very... More

Due to my job I have traveled quite a lot over the last 13 years and stayed in a lot of hotels. Many places spend thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, investing in physical improvements to their properties. While this is fine, most of the time they fail to invest in the one thing which I believe is most important... More

I was a little skeptical about this being an older motel, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that although the place has a fun retro vibe, it has been updated and is clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly, and we were so thankful to them for turning on the A/C on prior to our checking in,... More

We stayed here for one night. The hotel is definitely on the cheaper side but the owners have kept it up well. I was a little concerned that our door didn't seem to fully close but I think that was due to the rain and my boyfriend was able to get it shut. Other than that, the staff were incredibly... More

Came back from my roadtrip a day early and needed last minute room. Called at 10pm and got a ground floor, non-smoking and very comfortable room which the Innkeeper offered at a discounted rate because of the lateness of the hour. I was worried about traffic noise from Oglethorpe Avenue but experienced none. The room was clean and the beds... More

We stayed one night here and immediately had to find another hotel. I was drawn in by the retro claims, but retro in this case just means old/dirty. The carpets were still wet from cleaning, none of the furnishings were dusted, and the room smelled wet and moldy. Their wifi reception was horrible, and we could not get connection at... More

I have heard it said that location is everything. For the Thunderbird Inn, it's the only thing. The popcorn and lemonade thing is only for the brochures and when your toilet clogs in the middle of the night, it seems that a maintenance man or a plunger are not on the premises. The accommodations were adequate and we were close... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights while in Savannah, GA. I will say that the location of the Inn in comparison to the rest of the historic part of Savannah is good, and that the rate is very affordable considering it's location. The Thunderbird is really more of what would have been considered a "motel" and not... More
