We stayed at the thunderbird in March and had read the reviews so took a chance.we stayed for two days. We found the staff to be very accommodating. The rooms are worn and old but hey it's a motel that is smack in the historic district and way reasonable.we loved that the dot is right across the street so you... More

Similar to other reviews I have read the Thunderbird is a conveniently located budget friendly hotel. The staff is amazing - we had a small hiccup with our room when we were checking in and the manager more than went out of his way to make sure that we were taken care of and satisfied. The beds are good -... More

As a few other reviewers have said, this place sounded brilliant but the reality was a little tarnished. Decent value and nice enough, but the hotel felt a little worn. Quirky, good price, free donuts (hurrah!), and perfectly fine without being awesome.

We were so looking forward to our stay after seeing the website. This is so disappointing! The bed spreads are worn, the carpet stained and dirty, paint peeling in our room- the bathroom was not clean. We stayed the first leg of our trip at the Quality Inn- it was much better experience all around.

I had never been to Savannah, so my fiance and I decided to travel there for my birthday. We wanted to stay somewhere unique - not your standard hotel chain. We can upon amazing reviews of the Thunderbird and decided to book a room. All of the great little quirky attributes are what made us want to stay. Sadly, most... More

We wanted so much to love this place -- the pictures looked great, the price was affordable, and the kitschy vibe was enticing. But the reality was very different. We traveled with a group of friends from up north who were excited to try their first Moonpies. Sadly, the inn was out of them. They were also out of popcorn,... More

The staff makes the Thunderbird a great place to stay. No matter how busy it gets, everyone is truly hospitable and gracious. I arrived super early, and there was a room ready, so I got to check in and relax after my 5 AM flight. Much appreciated! My hair dryer didn't work, so I let the front desk know and... More

2 nights with a friend in room 203. Comfy beds, powerful and hot shower. Super nice staff!! Housekeepers were nice and cheerful. Breakfast is donuts which were good. Great coffee. This is an older hotel and it shows but it was clean and I would stay there again.

A super hip place with a great walking distance to everything that matters, including Broughton Street and River Street. PERFECT for St. Patrick's Day! Yet what really made this place, I would have to say, was the service - as it was probably the best service I have EVER had at a hotel. Selena, in particular, was so extremely helpful... More
