You are looking for a good location without spending too much and you want a comfortable clean room. The Thunderbird delivers! Spent one night on the way home and loved the deal and the digs. Close to downtown Historic District so we could easily walk around and see the sights with great restaurants close by. The room was smallish but... More

Let me preface by saying we knew exactly what we were getting in terms of "you get what you pay for." We booked literally a half hour before arrival, having no set plans, nor any clue really about what to do in Savannah. Driving into the city I was pleasantly surprised that it was SUPER easy to find (huge, totally... More

Opened room door and stepped into '70's. Clean and comfortable. Pet area for Fifi. Classic Krispy Kreme donuts and coffee bfast. Walking distance to historic area. Easy access to cabs and tours. I'll be back.

The staff was very nice. Price is good for being so close to the historic district. The rooms, well that's another story. Our rug was damp and the room needed a good cleaning. I know the hotel is "retro" but the air vent in room 116 looks like it hasn't been cleaned since 1960...it was black. That isn't my kind... More

The outside is a real throw back! Do not stay in room 105. It is right next to the ice machine that gets used into the wee hours and the maids room is next door (they start early). The toilet didn't flush very well, the drain took 5 minutes to drain and it had the original bath tub! The AC... More

First of all let me start by saying that if you want a fancy hotel you will pay for a fancy hotel. These were my observations? The thunderbird was clean and cheap. Got a great deal on one of those sites! The rooms were clean. We wanted to check in early but were not allowed to. The parking is tight... More

The Thunderbird Inn is an amazing retro hotel that is very unique. Complimentary moon pies and RC Cola when you arrive. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for breakfast. Popcorn and lemonade throughout the day. Who does that stuff? The Thunderbird Inn that's who! And they do it all right. They have nice clean rooms, great staff, and I will always stay here... More

Good bang for the buck! Friendly staff. The breakfast is awesome. Simple retro concept works. Conveniently located for the city tours. A little noisy, especially room 101, but nothing you can't handle. Bubble gum smell in the front desk throws you back to the 70's. Rooms can use a little bit more TLC. The carpet was very stained.

This was our second visit. This place is amazing. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and quiet. They are not only pet friendly, but treat your pets like royalty with treats and goodies. It is within walking distance to anywhere in the historic district and we did not move our truck for the 3 days... More

Great location, easy walkingdistance to the historic parts of town. Rooms quite OK , waterpressure could do with some tweaking though. Some traffic noise but not too disturbing. Donuts for breakfast is not my thing but the coffee was suprisingly good. I would not hesitate to come back.
