We stayed here for one night in order to take in the Savannah sights. The location can't be beat for walking to River Street and many historic attractions and restaurants. Our family had reserved two rooms and, although we did not make a special request, we were given adjoining rooms. Thanks! This made our stay more fun, as we could... more

I traveled to Savannah for a friend's birthday. This hotel is located in the historic district which means that its walking distance to many attractions in Savannah. The staff was friendly and helpful. One of the nice things about Doubletree hotels is that you are given fresh baked cookies when you check-in. It's nice to see that the hotel is... more

Definitely a well suited hotel to visitors in the historic Savannah district. You are just a few blocks away from downtown Savannah's River street as well as a few feet from the city market that has some great shops and restaurants. Get a drink in a to-go cup (yes you can drink and walk around in public in Savannah as... more

The Doubletree is right on the edge of the Historic District, but is still within walking distance to everything you'll need. There isn't much parking around Savannah, so it works out really good. Great restaurants like The Chart House, Lady & Sons, and Tony Romas are only blocks away. The City Market is less than a block away were you... more

The construction mentioned in recent reviews is no longer visible and has presumably been completed. The service was outstanding upon arrival and at checkout during our 2 night stay. Housekeeping promptly replaced a broken iron upon request and did a fine job refreshing our room. We did not eat any meals in the hotel lounge area, which is fairly nondescript... more

Staying at the DoubleTree Hotel in historic section of Savannah was a pleasing experience. We were allowed to check in early, our room was what we requested (two queen size beds), and the staff was unbelievably courteous, efficient, and helpful. Too, the hotel was well situated for our purposes. In addition to the usual amenities - coffee maker in the... more

I booked a room in advance at your Doubletree Hotel in Savannah, Ga. for 05/06/09 to 05/09/09, which I fully paid for in advance. First problem....... On the second night we were there, I was shocked when I checked our account and found I was being charged for Valet parking and we didn't have a car. When I noticed the... more

How do I begin? I left selecting of hotel to friend who'd had positive Doubletree stays in other cities. First trip to Savannah looking for a respite from the never-ending Wisconsin winter. Positives: Clean room and bath, spacious, nicely appointed lobby. Negatives: Bay Street is a racetrack and if you value sleep, you'll be in for noise. Don't ask to... more

I definitely enjoyed my stay at the Doubletree. The service was great, for the most part. And the location was pretty good as well (it's kind of at the end of the historic district, but still close to some very nice sights). My only complaint is the size of the rooms (still good for the price, though). more

We just returned from a 4 day mini-vacation. We still can't figure out why anybody could complain about this hotel...We travel alot, and have stayed at many nice places both in the US, Canada, and Europe, and this rates right up there among the most accomodating....The employees went out of their way to make our stay one of the most... more
