My wife and I stayed with our 3 kids, 12-19, for 2 nights. The first night was in an "extra large" room near the back of the hotel. It was big enough but very musty with parking lot view and the only window was painted shut. Not pleasant and high price to boot. The next night we moved to a... more

When there is no room at the inn, consider yourself LUCKY! One of the worst dining/lodging experiences in a VERY long time, if not ever. Although the views are beautiful, they are the ONLY appealling aspect. Historic, yes, but quaint it is NOT! Rooms are out-dated and musty. Tacky, trashy furnishings....my bed had neither a mattress pad nor fitted sheet;... more

We stayed here after a visit to Fallingwater. What a gem. Our room was on the back side of the hotel and very quiet. We enjoyed the restaurant - dinner and breakfast. We enjoy staying in old hotels so much more than chains. Unique character and interesting to imagine what it was like in the grand days of the porch... more

We make it a point to stay at the older historic hotels and resorts such as the Otesaga, Cooperstown, NY and The Mount Washington resort in New Hampshire. Although the cost of the stay is typically higher than a good chain hotel, such as a Hilton, etc., you typically are catered to in addition to enjoying the charm of the... more

While this hotel was certainly not perfect, I actually had a very enjoyable stay there last Columbus Day weekend with my husband. Folks should know what they are getting themselves into. The place is old, and yes the rooms are quite dark and a bit shabby with very poor lighting. But the old feel of the place can't be beat... more

Having read the Trip Advisor reviews, when making reservations I expressed my concern that the rooms may have a musty smell and/or be noisy. The helpful reservation clerks advised that they would reserve a nice room in the back of the hotel. It turned out that one of the nice reservation clerks was also the check-in clerk. She was as... more

The Summit Inn is located in a beautiful location with outstanding views and many activities in the area. Our room was extremely small, lacked a closet and bathroom fan and had a large amount of black mold/mildew on the shower door. The attitude of the staff when we reported the mold was "Oh well". I also removed cobwebs from above... more

We stayed at the hotel for our 25th wedding anniversary, the week of September 8th. Yes, the hotel is old, but it has the charm of yesteryear the newer hotels can not match. The verandas and view are wonderful. The staff was very attentive. We played Wii with the owners and their friends. The food was very good. It was... more

My husband and I stayed in this hotel last weekend and I can honestly say I have never stayed anywhere with worse air quality. We both woke up feeling congested and like we were inhaling mold. The whole time we were in the hotel we felt sick. Other than that, the views are great but the hotel is showing its... more

My children booked us a partially inclusive weekend package - I was appalled at the price they paid. Our bedroom overlooked the entrance/beginning of the car park so our view was of the car park and trees on the other side of the very busy, noisy road - it certainly wasn't a scenic view. The king size bed occupied most... more
