We joined a couple for three nights at the Summit Inn so that we could visit Falling Water and Kentuck Knob, the Frank Lloyd Wright homes. The Inn, while old, (hence the Historic in the name) has a warm inviting atmosphere. The fireplace warmed the lobby in more ways than one. The staff went out of their way to suggest... More

My husband and I stayed here on our last night of our honeymoon, it was an impromptu additional stop. The inn has an expansive, multi-level porch and is beautifully situated with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Staff was welcoming enough, though concierge made an awkward comment assuming that we would enjoy our stay upon arrival. Our room was cozy... More

In June I attended a wedding at the Summit Inn. Cute old building with lots of character; a nice scenic venue. However, the service was disappointing. I tried to make a reservation via the online request and by calling and leaving several messages during the winter. Finally in spring I reached someone. I was informed (with a bit of attitude)... I am sorry to hear about your experience trying to make a reservation for the wedding you attended this summer. We were having difficulties with our new website this winter but the glitch has been resolved. Our sales office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 4:30,through the winter. I apologize for any delayed response to your reservation requests. I... More

I just cannot say enough about our trip to the Summit Inn this week! My husband and I had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania. You will never run out of things to see and do! The staff at the hotel were excellent and in great spirits at all times! The management team was exceptional! Every... More

Wow! The views from the Summit Inn Resort are astounding! The hotel is a historic grand porch hotel with lots of class and elegance. The views from the porch are amazing and the sunsets are spectacular. There is no elevator, so be prepared to walk steps. In its past, the hotel hosted, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and presidents of their... More

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Summit in and we went early so we could enjoy the pre-sunset view. It certainly did not disappoint. We were seated at a small table for two in the main dining room which was nice. Our server was very efficient and the food was fine. There isn't a lot of... More

We had read mixed reviews about the Summit but decided to stay one night on our way back from Columbus, Ohio after having a delicious lunch on the outbound trip. We found the entire staff, front desk, wait people, maids, to be extremely friendly. We had a standard king size bed room and the mattress was fantastic. I don't think... More

This is a lovely old inn with many delightful nooks, scenic views, oak walled bar, and a decent if overpriced restaurant. Tip: make reservations for every meal in advance! Restaurant staff seemed stressed. Rooms unaffected by wedding sounds - main banquet room extends beyond room floors. Outdoor pool was closed Labor Day weekend - normal or renovations, couldn't tell.

Our stay at the Historic Summit Inn was an "interesting" experience. First of all, the hotel itself is fairly attractive. While it could benefit from some updates, we didn't think that it was run-down; in fact, for the most part, the common areas and rooms were aesthetically pleasing. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, which made up for the... More

This site has great potential as a resort destination, but would require important updates in all areas. Rooms are small, with dated decor, thin linens, and mattresses past their prime. The bathroom had aging plumbing fixtures and is far too small by modern standards. The window a/c unit was noisy and cycled on and off with loud groans through the... More
