I spent a night at the Summit Inn mid-week in late May as an overnight on a long drive. This hotel was a great find. For a room with a view, with a full hot breakfast (select items off of the breakfast menu), the value is good. The rooms are modern and clean. The highlights of the hotel are the... More

We came for a wedding that was on the premises and decided to stay for convenience, even though it was pricier than the other options. I was actually super excited because I love old hotels and this one looked so cute. That was our mistake... The front desk staff (two older women, the youngest girl was actually very nice) when... Classic rural mountain resort country inn. Well- maintained, not looking faded and dated as these older properties sometimes can. Lobby and public spaces are lovely, with lots of comfortable seating. Which was good, since my room was very small. Not much more than a bed. No fridge or coffee maker, just a 19inch old box tv with no premium channels.... More

If you want a new hotel with all the modern amenities, this will not be the place for you. If you love old, charming buildings full of history you will enjoy your stay. Our room was spacious enough to hold a king size bed, double dresser, small round table and two chairs without being cramped. There was also a decent size... More

This historic Inn may have been wonderful in its heyday, but this place needs a complete overhaul. Yes it has its history and one can see why it could be a charming place to stay, but it needs attention. The rooms are musty. Our first room had water damage and was not updated at all. Once we moved to another... More

When we first arrived at the historic Inn nestled up in the mountains, I had high expectations. The setting was beautiful. We pulled into the parking lot and went into the lobby. Behind the registration counter were old signs from the original days of the Inn (built in 1907), including the original key cubby holders. But when we got to... More

My husband and I stayed at the Summit for 3 nights in mid-May. It was expensive, but I was prepared to love it because of stories from my elderly parents about going there for romantic dinners/dancing back in the 1950's. The lobby is charming, though it was too cold to enjoy the outdoor terrace or pool We had a large,... More

We stayed here for a wedding and had rehearsal dinner, the reception, and post wedding breakfast here. The food is fantastic and the historic hotel has great public spaces compared to new ones so we spent a lot of time hanging out. The fireplace and porches are wonderful. Most of the rooms seemed to be somewhat updated (it is historic... More

The Inn is located in a beautiful area within a few minutes to Kentuk Knob, Fallingwater, beautiful Ohiopyle State Forest, and other historic sites. We felt welcome the moment we entered the Inn...we were hot and sweaty from hiking and it was Mother's Day with a full house for luncheon and everyone dressed to the hilt...but we were not looked... When staying at a historic place like the Summit Inn one needs to balance the old-fashioned charm against the lack of modern amenities. The first impression is of the beautiful setting overlooking the mountains, a wonderful enormous porch, and a large, impressive antique lobby with massive furniture and staircases. There is a nice restaurant and indoor pool; the outdoor pool... More
