A mix of good & bad: First the good. I knew from other reviews that the property was very charming but also had some areas that were in dire need of improvement. Now that I've stayed at the hotel myself, I have to agree with that assessment. The property itself was sweet and felt like going back in time. Their... More

Turn back the hands of time. This wonderful resort made the entire family forget about technology and interact with nature. It is set on top of a lovely mountain and you see a perfect sunset. The food in the restaurant was fabulous. They even have a "Tree House Masters" tree house on the grounds you are allowed to visit. We... More

We had a girls' weekend at the Summit Inn. Our room was clean, the staff were polite and we had an enjoyable visit. The Inn is historic and much of the interior reflected the old-class charm. There are two pools - indoor and out. We took advantage of the outdoor pool. It was beautiful. Visited the tree house on our... More

We did not stay at the Summit Inn but dined in at the Versnda restaurant located on the porch, and it had magnificent views. We did not have reservations and at this time of year, they served on the porch rather than inside, weather permitting. The weather was perfect, we talked, and then ordered. Our drinks were brought to the... More

This was my third stay at the Summit Inn. It has turned into a favorite option for traveling with my mother. This year I brought two 20-something kids and a niece. We planned side-trips of whitewater rafting on the Youghiogheny, touring a winery and seeing Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. There is so much to do in the area - but... More

Our $200/night room was smelled stuffy and musty, even with the air running, and there was black mold growing on the old wallpaper above the air conditioner. The bathroom had no fan, so even a short shower filled the room with humidity which refused to dissipate. There was no iron in the room, and so we had to go down... More

Looking for a course along highway 40 and found Summit Hill golf course. Super friendly staff, very inexpensive if not staying at hotel ($10), free if staying at hotel. Not fancy, but perfect for a 9 holes. Terrain is hilly which makes it challenging. Spoke to owners and sounds like they are making a lot of improvements. Can't wait to... More

Great view, this 100+ year old hotel dates back to the 1900's with distinguished guests such as Edison, Ford, Firestone, & Truman. Too bad it lost it's luster from yesteryear. This hotel is pretty much nothing more than an okay place to stay the night. With its history I really expected more. With the exception of the main staircase and... More

Don't come expecting a resort feel. You should go to the Nemacolin Resort for that. The ladies working at the front desk are as charming and friendly as prison guards... especially the manager. When I asked for the code to the exercise room, they looked at each other like they didn't want to tell me. Then one of them wrote... More

I have to give a huge plug to the Historic Summit Inn, it was like walking back in time. The Inn has the feel of the 1900’s with the amenities of 2015, including free Wifi and a gym. If you’re looking for a road trip worthy place to go, THIS IS IT. They have an indoor and outdoor pool, with... More
