Took our three teens white water rafting and decided to stay here. So cool! Had wine on the deck watched the sunset. Amazing photos! So much history in the walls. Didn't eat in the restaurant because of cost to feed 3 teens that would prefer McDonald's over high end food. They have a nice little bar to get drinks at.... More

Nice Inn on top of a mountain. Old Inn that has been well maintained. Room was spacious and comfortable. Directions to the local area were spot on and Inn staff were receptive and friendly. Only negative was that the restaurant was not open for dinner as it was closing for the season the following day, this was a major disappointment.... More

First off, be aware that this is a listed historic site, and the upgrades and modernization that they are allowed to do is limited. Within that constraint, this is a beautiful building with comfortable and relatively large rooms, especially by current and more modern standards. The restaurant was just excellent, as was the lounge. The people running the hotel are... More

I've stayed here before but it's been awhile. The place really seems to have gone down hill. Maybe it was because of being near the end of the season and they were getting ready to close but the room was dirty. Everything seemed worn out. The room really needed a thorough cleaning and a face lift. It's very bare bones... More

A group of friends elected to visit Fallingwater, a Frank Lloyd Wright house, enroute to Annapolis. We selected Historic Summit Inn because of its proximity. Upon arrival, there was an event and the parking lo was almost full so we had to park at the upper lot and drag our luggage through the lots and then up the stairs to... More

Yes, it's "historic" but the hotel needs to step it up a bit. Wifi is in the lobby and lounge only. The bathroom was large enough but had no shelves, and the sink tilts inward, so there is no place to put you toiletries. The hallways, the rooms, the lobby all seem dark and in need of new paint, furniture... More

My wife and I stayed here for our one year anniversary. Overall we had a positive experience. It definitely is peaceful and relaxing. However the hotel rooms border between old and nostalgic. Prior to checking in, I looked through the reviews; they are mostly positive. One that I found interesting is that someone had gone #2 in the bathroom and... More

Let me start by saying that I visit as many Historic Hotels as possible and that "The Summit Inn" is far the Best. We visited this past weekend for our first year anniversary. I called months ago to reserve room 215 based on room tips but the room was apparently booked for a wedding party. The manager was gracious and... More

I'm using my husband's account since he says I write better :) and I normally always leave a good review. Not this time! Let me start by saying the good things; the view is spectacular and the outside of the hotel is really beautiful if you like older hotels. The food we had at the family wedding we attended was... "Perfect timing" the waitress declared, plonking the main course down as my wife was two-thirds the way through her appetiser. It rather summed the Summit up. Abundantly average, apart from the dramatic hilltop setting and the elegant Art Deco lobby. The problem is that once you penetrate past the latter, disappointment is assured.
