This site has great potential as a resort destination, but would require important updates in all areas. Rooms are small, with dated decor, thin linens, and mattresses past their prime. The bathroom had aging plumbing fixtures and is far too small by modern standards. The window a/c unit was noisy and cycled on and off with loud groans through the... More

On August 22 and 23, 2014 we had a 61st class reunion for class 1953. I was born and raised in Uniontown area and had always been familiar with the Summit Hotel and its amenities. I love the quaintness of the interior and the modernization of the exterior grounds and buildings. All of the history and charm are so well... More

Visiting Fallingwaters has been on our bucket list for a very long time, so when we finally made travel plans for this long-anticipated visit, we wanted to focus on our "mission" while staying somewhere special too. So glad we chose Historic Summit Inn. Aptly named, we enjoyed panoramic views across the western-most ridge of the Appalachian Mountains and of the... More

This is a wonderful old inn located in the beautiful Laurel Highlands region of Pennsylvania. The hotel has great charm and historic texture. The room was clean and comfortable; however, the AC unit was loud. There is a fine view from the veranda, particularly if you like sunsets. The lobby was a great place to relax, especially with coffee in... More

I'd like to love this place. The siting is geographically magnificent - we watched the sunset (time posted in the lobby) over the vast stretch of states to the west; and my historian husband was thrilled to be on THE National Road. The lobby is nicely decorated to take you back to its 100+ year-old origins. So far so good.... More

I guess I should have read these reviews before I chose this place for our 1st anniversay...my first clue should have been when I called to ask about reservations, the lady hung up on me. Guess I was not suppose to ask questions! I finally e-mailed the inn and told them that my husband and I were thinking of spending... More

This place has a good bit of history, is located in a beautiful area and has a good view..All this makes it charming and worth a visit. Prices are ok compared with hotels in a major city, but seems a bit expensive considering what you get. The place is a bit rundown, but I guess that this is a part... More

We stayed one night at the Historic Summit Inn and were charmed. We were on our way to Falling Water and Kentuck Knob and were enchanted by the rolling hills of the Laurel Highlands. The Inn looks like it might have looked years ago, with low lighting, craftsman furniture and a wonderful porch for sitting and rocking. We had dinner... More

Stayed here for a nearby family wedding. Bummed that the outdoor pool wasn't ready but the wide porches and open veranda were great for visiting and relaxing- day and night. Interior is older but beautifully restored. Great spot to catch up with family over a great view.

We own a farm about 20 miles away and some of the locals were speaking highly of the restaurant to we drove up the mountain on a Saturday eve a week ago. What a nice surprise in your own backyard! We decided to forgo the view and eat in the dining room. The place is old but beautifully maintained/restored. Our... More
