My husband and I just stayed here while we were in the area, and we had some really mixed feelings about the inn. The pros: fabulous views, nice staff, close to a lot of cool local attractions. The cons: room wasn't super clean (ie. old hair in the drawers), service was sometimes lackluster (ie. old dirty glass sitting on floor... More

a bit dated, but for the price, it was well worth the stay. The veranda/porch has great sunset view, even better than the brochure photo. We came in October, so were not able to use the new outdoor pool which will be available next summer (2015), but the indoor pool is better than most. food was very good and included... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights to visit Falling Waters which was fabulous. The staff at the front desk was somewhat uninspired and unenthusiastic. The girl at the bar while we know was inundated with orders, was not friendly. Sometime just acknowledging customers makes a difference but she did not and I felt we were imposing. The breakfast... Great place to stay if you want to see Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. Perfect ending for our family trip Impressive family run hotel, glad not to stay in a chain hotel. We had a lovely time and enjoyed the pool

We very much enjoyed visiting this old legend in the Laurel Mountains. The hotel has been restored to an excellent condition, and the lobby and the surrounding grounds are just beautiful. The room we had was spacious enough and reasonably well-appointed, and quiet. We really did not have any complaints except for wifi not being available in the rooms (only... More

We stayed two nights at the Summit Inn on a weekend trip. The view from the several outside porches and verandas are gorgeous, but the weather was cold, windy and overcast, so we weren't able to sit out and enjoy. The art-deco lobby is amazing, though too dark and musty-smelling. The huge fireplace was blazing, and there was always someone... More

My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. Arrived early so our room wasn't ready but passed the time nicely in front of a fire in the lobby fireplace while we read the Sunday papers (provided) and enjoyed the coffee/tea at the "help yourself" station maintained in the lobby every morning. Our room was very comfortable and decorated nicely.... More

Pros: The view. The veranda. The dining room. (The food we had was tasty and presented nicely.) Non-smoking establishment. Cons: This is an old (107 years) hotel. It smells terrible throughout. (Musty, dank, etc.). If you have allergies or a sensitive noise, I would not recommend.(My lungs still feel contaminated from breathing the musty/dusty air). Lots of stairs, no elevator... More

Really nice old hotel in a beautiful area. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The free breakfast was top quality (sausage bacon toast eggs etc. ) Shame the outdoor pool isn't ready still but the indoor one was still nice. Plenty to see and do nearby- take the 45 minute drive to west Virginia state penetentiary for a great day... More

My wife and I recently spent a weekend at the Summit Inn. It was absolutely incredible. The place is charming, historic ... there are not many places like that around. The location is perfect. The view is amazing. It' sjust minutes to Nemacolin, Ft. Necessity, Laurel Caverns, Ohio Pyle and a number of restaurants and bars. The staff was all... More
