When we arrived here, there was NO host to greet us; just a note on the front door addressed to us. VERY IMPERSONAL. Our room was hot and we could not locate an a/c or any thermostat. Turns out, the thermostat is down the hallway and it's central a/c for the entire hallway of rooms. We turned it down, but... More

Wow - I don't know where to start! Despite our best efforts, we were obviously unable to satisfy this guest. Most (99%) of people consider 73 degrees a comfortable temperature to sleep in. I have never had a complaint about this suite being hot. This guest demanded an earlier breakfast (although our confirmation letter clearly states that breakfast is served... More

The Veranda will now be our little get away in Fort Davis. We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts- all homemade- and the conversations around the table. All of the guests that we spoke to were repeat visitors at The Veranda. The staff, including the owner, were willing to please and joined the conversations. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and the... More

We had a very relaxing, pleasant stay. Fresh coffee is available all day. Near the front entrance is an antique cabinet with wine glasses and cork screws so you can enjoy a glass of wine (BYOB) on the veranda. Breakfast was a real treat - all homemade. The day we left, the chef gave us a goodie bag of cookies... More

this is a lovely B&B furnished with antiques. it is near downtown fort davis (most places in ft davis are near downtown...). the very nice, personable owner was present at check in and at breakfast. we thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would definitely stay again. the front porch is a wonderful place for breakfast and lounging.

A charming place with a super friendly staff. It's actually nicer and more picturesque than it appears in the photos. We stayed three nights, and each breakfast was different and absolutely delicious. And don't miss the free yummy treats in the lobby every day!

This is a bed and breakfast, the oldest inn in West Texas. David, the proprietor, was friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable, and the breakfast was a great start to our day. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Fort Davis, and would stay there again if we went out that way.

We booked a suite and a room at Veranda Historic Inn because we were attending a Star Party @ McDonald Observatory. While the Inn is not fully historic in terms of furnishings and decor there are lots of historic aspects and many of the furnishings were very historic (while not period specific). The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating and... More

My wife and I have stayed twice at this historic Fort Davis inn. We have found it a pleasant and relaxed place to stay. This time, we stayed in the carriage house behind the inn, and it was a true home away from home. The owners are casual, welcoming and helpful. The members of the hotel staff, especially the breakfast... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Veranda- it is such a pleasant, peaceful place. We felt very well looked after and comfortable. The breakfasts were great, tea and coffee available at all times, and it was a pleasure to meet the other guests. There is plenty to do in the area and David was helpful in suggesting... More

We stayed here back in April 2015. It's a quiet little B&B in a quiet little town, but central to Marfa, Alpine, the McDonald Observatory and activity around Fort Davis, of course. The owner was most helpful helping us get a room even though we were a walk in (walk-in's aren't usually accepted). Remember, this is an old hotel with... More
