Without any doubt, this is the place to stay in Fort Davis. We were delighted and charmed by the place itself--perhaps nearly an acre of grounds covered with towering pecan trees and covered with lush grass dotted with flowers beds and spacious accommodations tastefully and richly decorated--and, moreover, hosted by a most engaging and just the friendliest couple, Carla and... Owners say they are retiring soon. Only 2 rooms but a nice place back on a gravel road but not hard to find - GPS in the car got lost but the smart phone GPS got us there. Nice setting with nice folks and a great breakfast.

We spent 2 nights at the Schoolhouse and it was just perfect! Location, lovely parklike yard, garden, and a great breakfast served on the patio. The hosts are friendly and helpful with a lot of local info. Our room was spacious and very comfortable - and quiet. If you have an interest in local birding, you will find answers to... More

I came as a walk in, as I usually do. For the price and being here for 2 days I felt this was the better deal. I have a sitting room to hang in for down time. Sitting room is equipped with a chair and a small couch that folds out to a bed. The grounds are simply stunning! At... More

The hosts were gracious, helpful, welcoming; accommodations were lovely, comfortable, and well kept; breakfast was very good, served at a convenient time, and on the back patio with a pretty yard view while eating.

What a wonderful experience we had at The Old Schoolhouse B&B. The food was INCREDIBLE, the hosts kind and warm, and the rooms were clean! We really enjoyed staying in a B&B instead of a hotel and will definitely be back. We stayed in the Riting & Rithmetic suite and loved the large space to relax. The bed was a... More

In April we enjoyed a stay at the Old Schoolhouse B&B. The web site pictures accurately convey how it is set in the middle of a large inviting yard dotted with pecan trees. The Kennedys were gracious and interesting hosts who made a point of talking with us each morning (which we really appreciated). Breakfasts were great and nicely varied.... More

We had just spent several nights in Big Bend National Park and only put Fort Davis on our itinerary because we wanted to see the McDonald Observatory. I had researched hotels and B & B's - Old Schoolhouse was the only one to receive consistently outstanding reviews. Now that we've stayed there, I know why. The accommodations were outstanding, the... More

What a peaceful setting and wonderful location. Close to everything,( but probably not walking distance) and in a refurbished old schoolhouse. Breakfast was outstanding and the hosts are some of the nicest people we have met. "Reading" room was very comfortable. Nice porches on both sides of the house offered a great place for a glass of wine after our... More

We had a short but pleasant and relaxing stay at the Old Schoolhouse B&B. Carla was most accommodating with our dietary requests and both Steve and Carla provided helpful travel advice. We bought delicious pecans grown right on the property. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, and the town has a worthwhile walking tour of historic sites. Although all... More
