Staff and property are wonderful. Food was great and my view could not be beat. My cabin was disgusting. There is a difference between rustic and old plus dirty. I also looked at the bunkhouses which were even more disgusting. I hope the owners/investors put some money back into the cabins/bunkhouses as I would love to come back.

What a wonderful place! My son has been to camp here for 6 years and claims its the best place on earth. The accommodations are simple, consider yourself at camp too. The food is always good and I love no TV, no Cell Service, no make-up required.....

We enjoyed staying in one of the cabins that was farthest away from the central ranch house area. A couple bottles of wine, a big sky and bright stars along with javelina that came in close to the cabin made for an entertaining evening. A morninghorseback ride across Limpia Creek and through adjacent hills and dales proved to be a... More

I stayed at Prude Ranch four days and three nights as part of a large travelling junior high school group just a week ago. Great experience, and I'd highly recommend it for groups and families. The food, served off of a buffet, was excellent. Breakfast buffet fare, for example, included real scrambled eggs, thick-cut bacon, sausage, ham, biscuits and gravy,... More

Fran was the lady who assisted us with our reservation to ride horses one day on our vacation to Alpine, Tx. It was raining on and off and the scheduled ride was tentative. She never got ansy and was kind and professional. Genny was the rustler who took myself and two daughters out for a two hour ride. Just can't... More

We called several weeks ahead of our trip to plan an overnight at the highly rated Prude Ranch. Granted it also serves as a camp for children of all ages the ranch also has rooms to rent out for travelers in the area. The Prude Ranch also advertises horse back riding...1 hour rides through the country side. The horseback ride... More

My daughters went to Prude Ranch when they were kids and now their children are going. Two generations of Prude Ranch cowgirls! What a delightful experience, where kids learn to ride horses, experience leadership opportunities, meet new friends, learn discipline and responsibility, and have a great time all at once!! The setting is in the beautiful Davis Mountains, with stars... More

Prude Ranch guest cabin are simple and could use several upgrades, but the ranch is wonderful. Staff is excellent at the summer camp and make the experience awesome for the kids. The rooms are simple, no tv, no cell service, no internet. The ranch is not about spoiling you while in your room, so don't go with that expectation. If... More

Prude Ranch is in a lovely spot in the Davis Mountains, however, that is the best thing I can say about my recent abbreviated one-night stay. The staff is nice and helpful. However, it is my understanding that the ranch is no longer owned by the Prude family due to various circumstances. That said, whoever currently owns it needs to... More

Stayed in a two bedroom cabin (200/night). I've stayed at several dude ranches in Texas and expected more here. First, there were 60-80 kids from neighboring schools on field trip. They were mostly quiet. Accommodations were meager. Very dated....1960s or older. Mold underneath sink. No shampoo. AC worked well though. No tv, no phone which is ok with me. Just... More
