Quiet, exceptionally clean. Friendly owners who make you feel at home. Perfect for my weekend trip to the area. I stayed in cabin 22 which was the closest to the highway, but noise was not an issue. No television, and that was GREAT! No temptation to turn it on just for noise. A nice front porch to sit and enjoy... More

Very clean, very comfortable, very friendly! Disappointed there is no longer breakfast, but the BBQ was fabulous! Wasn't sure what to do with the key when I checked out, the door to the lodge was locked, so I put it in the doorknob of my cabin,,,and a suggestion would be to include tea in the rooms with the coffee maker.... Such a great gem in the desert. Clean, quiet and perfect for a getaway! Cabin was immaculate and comfortable. Recommend for a family vacation or romantic jaunt. Odd number cabins overlook the uninterrupted desert and mountains. Amazing!

We got stuck outoftown due to bad weather and had to alter our stay (winter weather froze all the roads around the lodge in west TX), and they were very responsive in altering our booking from 2 nights to 1. When we arrived late at night, everything was as described. Only issue was soaked bath mat ...was very odd, couldn't... More

We had great correspondence with the owners before we stayed for 1 night. We were booked into the star party at the Mcdonald Observatory and didn't arrive at the Lodge until about 9:30. As promised there was info on the office door telling us which cabin we had. A very small point was that the porch light was not left... More

We stayed here for two nights at the end of 2014, and Mtn Trails was a great base camp for our activities in the area. Cabin was very clean and simple with comfortable beds and standard amenities; heater kept the place warm enough, though took a while to warm up during the bad cold snap while we were there. Best... We arrived in the middle of the night and the note with instructions was on the office door. It was well organized. The room was a good size, comfortable beds, very clean, nice amenities. The temperature was easily controlled for each cottage. The bathroom is a bit small but got the job done. We had their breakfast two mornings, prepared... More

Stayed in late September for a 3 day holiday; check in was a breeze, Scott and Jenny were gracious and a great help in directing us to fun, interesting things to do and see in the area. Wonderful hot, breakfast in the morning was a homey start to the day (will not be offered after the first of the year... More

Scott & Jenny are wonderful and well informed hosts to this great Retreat in the Davis Mountains! Rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable with everything you need except a hair dryer. Homemade breakfast starts your day perfectly...so many things to do in the area or just kick back and enjoy soaking in the beauty of this West Texas town and... More
