Scott & Jenny are wonderful and well informed hosts to this great Retreat in the Davis Mountains! Rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable with everything you need except a hair dryer. Homemade breakfast starts your day perfectly...so many things to do in the area or just kick back and enjoy soaking in the beauty of this West Texas town and... More

Wonderful service, friendly and helpful. The meals were 1st class and filling. BBQ was outstanding. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Great place to see the stars. Close to town and all the attractions. I love coming here each year.

We stayed at the Mountain Trail Lodge Memorial Day weekend to do some stargazing. The cabins were clean and very comfortable. Homemade breakfast was served each morning and enjoyed some great BBQ Saturday evening. The cabin are in close proximity of the McDonald observatory. And about an hour in a half drive to Big Bend National Park. The staff was... More

Stayed three nights in the end of in April for our anniversary. The room was clean, comfortable, well maintained and quiet. Excellent temperature control which came in handy with nights in the 40s and days in the high 70s. Breakfasts were home made and great! First Class hospitality from people who've been in the business for years. They also gave... More

We have stayed at Mountain Trails Lodge the past two Memorial Day weekends and always stayed one night. We enjoyed these units and the nice breakfast. However, due to a lack of staff, Mountain Trails Lodge no longer accepts single-night stays for holiday weekends. So, we will not be able to do business with them any longer over the Memorial... This place is a great place to stay. My husband and I stayed April 2014 and really enjoyed the cabin. The cabins are extremely clean and extremely spacious. Each cabin has their own porch with a great view. The breakfast is homemade and excellent. I definitely look forward to staying at the Mountain Trail Lodge again. Thanks for a great... More

...as I almost did. Upon entering the registration office, I observed the chaotic clutter of holidays past and mountains of bric-brac covered with a fine patina of dust. Being one who values order and cleanliness, I braced myself for a "bad experience". Was I ever wrong!! Dust in windy West Texas is unavoidable, and the clutter was tongue-in- cheek humor.... More

We loved staying at Mountain Trails Lodge. The cabins are comfortable, the location is ideal, and the breakfast gave us a great start each day. Our room faced the east (the back side of the property), so we were able to enjoy a gorgeous sunrise each morning as the day began. Saw deer each morning also.

The location is close to many activities and things to see. The cabins are super with plenty of room for two. It's handy to have the microwave and small refrigerator. We took food for dinners and cooked them on the gas grill that Jenny and Scott have made available for their guests. Jenny & Scott are the best hosts! The... More

Scott, Jenny and Brian will welcome you to this cozy, historic B&B and after getting to know them, you'll know that you've found your Home Away From Home. Delicious, abundant breakfasts, intelligent conversation and dedication to your comfort are obvious in the first few minutes of your visit, and continue afterward. The cabins are spare, but have everything you need... More
