We only could get one night, the hotel was fully booked. We loved the room from the moment we entered it. Three windows in two directions, massive wooden furniture, fireplace from old times, quiet AC or heating system and refuge ambience. The room was a perfect blend of modern amenities in bathroom and rustic, seldom seen furniture. The bathroom seems... More

Our room in the historic portion of the lodge was beautiful and cozy despite the frosty weather outside. A special treat was enjoying the fires in the lobby area of the lodge. On our last day at the Indian Lodge we hiked up the hill side immediately behind the lodge and saw the Aoudad sheep hanging out, watching us!

Although I have lived in Texas over 60 years, I had not been to the Davis Mountains and was pleasantly surprised at these beautiful mountains in Texas. Even more impressive was the Indian Lodge inside Fort Davis State Park, which provided us with all the needed amenities inside a State park. Our room had 2 queen beds, a sitting area... More

Stayed here one night on a visit to the observatory. The adobe style buildings set against the backdrop of the Davis Mountains State Park was very scenic. It was even more picturesque when huge snowflakes started falling after we checked into our room on Dec 27. Stayed in room 220 which is a two queen unit. The room was spacious... More

We have stayed here several times in the historic section and love the honeymoon suite and the Lady Bird suite. We had no problems with noise. A previous commenter was chagrined that guests were placed above her the second day, but people like me request specific rooms when we book and always expect them and get them when we check... More

My childhood was spent camping in the Davis Mountains area some 40 years ago and I remember seeing the Indian Lodge and wishing that I could stay there. On one occasion, I got to swim in the pool there because of an invitation from a friend. Well, better late than never. Now I'm 52 and I decided that staying in... More

Our family of four stayed in a junior suite (one double bed in the bedroom and a hide-a-bed in the living room) located in the “original” section for three nights. The views, the ambiance, and the general cozy feel of the Indian Lodge makes for a phenomenal time during the day. However, as soon as night hits – the atmosphere... More

Had Room 112 with a wonderful view of the Davis Mountains from our patio. The room is quite large and beautifully decorated with CCC hand made furniture, wood floor & ceiling. The staff is very friendly and helpful. While I've stayed at the Lodge previously, my friend had not & he was overwhelmed with the beauty of both the Lodge... More

We went with two other couples to visit the observatory's star party and enjoy the area. Had stayed here many years ago with our 2 children. They have kept it up very nicely and made improvements to the rooms. The rooms are large and there is a nice outdoor patio where we enjoyed snacks before the star party. Afterward, we... More

Pros: • Beautiful setting. Don’t miss the skyline drive in the Park. • Rooms are a good size (we were in room 322), beds good, view of canyon lovely, windows on both sides of the room so nice air flow through room. • TV in room good • Staff in Office and restaurant very friendly. • Price is right! $107/night...
