Stayed at the lodge for one night during a road trip throughout Texas. Staff were very friendly and there was someone waiting to check us in even when we arrived late at night. We stayed in one of the traditional style rooms that was lovely, clean and quite a good size. There was no breakfast included in the charge and... More

We spent four nights at the rustic Indian Lodge in Davis Mountains Park while exploring the area. The room was large and airy, with a lots of polished wood and a ceiling of river cane. The hotel was built in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps, but has been recently completely refurbished. Check-in was fast and friendly despite our... More

We did just one night in order to catch the McDonald Observatory program but had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. The absolute best location in Ft Davis area and the one closest to the Observatory. The rooms were spotless and the beds comfortable. On of the nicest lodges associated with any park we have visited.

We had our rest day here on our cycle ride across America so stayed 2 nights. It's a wonderful place. Beautiful rooms and public areas and a nice restaurant. If you want to go somewhere very special, Indian Lodge is the place.

I was here with my girl scout troop as part of a trip to the McDonald Observatory, which is about 13 winding miles away. I stayed in a King Suite which was nice. The bed is very firm though, and I could see dips in the mattress. Maybe they should look into replacing the mattress. I was there at 1... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and well-equipped with a view over the mountains. Plenty of room and the Big Bear restaurant is next door. Bubbas in room next door yukked it up but they finished by 11 PM. All in all a really nice place to stay.

This was our second stay at the historic Indian Lodge. We have always stayed in one of the original rooms. They were completely renovated and restored just a few years ago, and they are just beautiful! Although some reviewers have complained about the squeaky hardwood floors and lack of carpeting and lack of upholstered chairs, please keep in mind that... More

We are here as of this writing and are loving the hotel, the surrounding natural beauty and the quiet serenity. The room is very comfortable with windows on two opposite sides affording gorgeous views and plenty of light. The staff are incredibly friendly. The breakfast buffet was filling and delicious. The architecture of the CCC era buildings is quintessential southwestern... More

first stop on our 2014 "winter vacation" in glorious west texas. loved this WPA-built property; our room (#20, I think) was a corner one: three windows, stunning views morning & night; handmade cedar furniture, reed ceiling, adobe walls, and giant conifers filled with singing birds. Ranger Tara, and the campground hosts, took us out birding on the weekend morning: generous... More
