This was our first visit to indian Lodge. We had heard much about how wonderful it is, but our experience was so-so. We had a room on the upper part of the historic section, with great views. Agree with previous posters about the rooms--worth the trip to see the building, which has been restored to original, but with nicer bathroom... more

I hesitate to write this review because I like this place so much, I really do not want to share it. But this place is so great that it deserves the praise. The original building was built in the 30's by the CCC, and has since been upgraded, expanded and modernized. The new rooms are very clean and spacious. The... more

We spent two memorable nights here. This place is ideal to socialize and we had so much interesting conversations with other guests, be it Harley Davidson riders or a bunch of very funny and lively guys having their class reunion (of 1954!). Due to a for us not easy to understand state law about "drinking in public" these people had... more

When my wife and I decided to take a spur of the moment trip to the Davis Mtns., I called Indian Lodge for accommodations. It's one of the few Tx. state park properties that take their own reservations. We were given a room in the origional part the first night. It was beautiful, with a king bed, furniture built in... more

Second year in a row to stay at the Lodge and couldn't be more pleased. Comfortable large room was super clean. Wonderful historic displays and wifi in the lounge area. But it's the outside that's the big draw. The setting in this valley is beautiful. Wonderful hiking area. Loved sitting at the swimming pool at nite and watching the bats... more

Indian Lodge run by Texas State Parks is set in the hills and built with Adobe stucco and log beams which gives a very cool rustic setting over looking the Davis Mountains. Even though it's generally hot in Texas the elevation at the Lodge cools it down considerably to very comfortable. The inside of the rooms are nicely decorated and... more

Was able to get a suite (room 123) in the original part of the lodge (only 16 rooms were built during the 30s when the CCC boys put this thing together). The rooms underwent a serious and historically corret renovation a few years ago, so that in itself is worth the visit. This lodge was built in the faux-pueblo style... more

Spent the 3rd through the 6th of July there. I found the food to be excellent and farely priced. However, the wate staff left something to be desired. When they were waiting on you, they were great. It often took time for them to notice that you needed something. Found the food at 2 of 3 local resteraunts to be... more

Stayed here for two nights for the third year in a row with my two boys (9 and 6) and my parents. Indian Lodge continues to be one of the best places in Texas and this part of the country! The rooms and bathrooms were extremely clean and everything worked well. I will say that the water pressure in the... more
