Great place. Beautiful layout. Lots of wildlife...have camera ready. Do the wildlife drive...very scenic..saw lots of Javelinas and some type of foreign mountain goat with enormous horns. I ate in town at family Mexican place that had good food.

This hotel in Ft Davis State Park was built during FDR's Works Program, the CCC, and resembles a Pueblo Indian village with large, quaint, cozy rooms, comfortable beds, nice-size bathrooms and absolutely beautiful views. There are several small groups of tables and chairs outside rooms that offer lovely views and just a nice place to read or visit with friends.... More

Our hotel felt "plush" after staying at the ones in Big Bend National Park! It had 2 queen sized beds which were very soft and lots of floor space. Our room had a wonderful view of the Davis Mountains and was very quiet. Upon arrival we had a few wasps in our room, but the maintenance folks took care of... More

After camping at Davis Mountains State park years ago I wanted to stay at the Indian Lodge. We stayed several years ago, but this stay was the first time in one of the historic rooms built in the 30s. This hotel isn't a luxury hotel, but you have to appreciate it for what it is. The rooms have thick adobe... More

We decided to stay in the Davis Mountains State Park. They operate this lodge on the premises. It is a lovely white adobe style lodge with rooms decorated in a mountain motif. There were two queen beds with oaken bed frames. There are two footlockers, an end table, a desk, and a TV with stand. There is a bar area... More

After having visited Davis Mountains State Park a couple of times we had always wanted to stay at the Indian Lodge to see how it was. This past week we decided to go for it since it was too cold (for my partner) to camp out. We were thrilled with our room. It was clean, comfortable, and full of rustic... More

Great location to stay when visiting Ft Davis (fort and downtown) and McDonald Observatory. Good restaurant at Indian Lodge and enjoyed watching local wildlife (deer) up close. The cities of Marfa (lights) and Alpine (brewery) are nearby also.

Indian Lodge is a property that was built by the CCC in the 30's. It is a rustic adobe compound that melts stress away in an instant. We were in a room with Eastern exposure on the ground floor. It was a lovely room to watch the sunrise. The lodge has many seating areas where you can explore one view... More

The difficulty we experienced trying to book this place made our stay all the more pleasurable. Beautifully laid out Adobe building and well appointed rooms. The reception staff were tremendous going above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. There were walking paths directly from the back of the hotel. Only down side was the black bear but fort... More

What a pleasant surprise and fortunate find! The rooms are beautifully appointed and the bathrooms are very large. The only thing I wish they had was a place to grill food outdoors. We ended up walking down to the camping area in the park and using some of the community grills. The Internet access is very spotty but we drove... More
