Historic home in the heart of downtown Astoria. Impressive garden and charming patio areas had dozens of blooming flowers and plants. Immaculately clean throughout the entire property. Our large room featured original stained glass windows, a modern fireplace, and large bed. My favorite feature was the white, high-back, claw-foot tub. Delicious home made breakfast free with reservation and included coffee,... More

I need to preface this review with two comments: 1) I am mainly commenting on the 3rd floor attic room, the Inspiration Suite, in which we stayed. We saw none of the other rooms. 2) B&Bs need to be judged differently than hotels, because some degree of “quirkiness” is to be expected. But there is a fine line between quirky... More

The Rose River Inn was perfect -- comfortable, well-organized, roomy, airy and light, quiet, walking distance to many restaurants for dinner. Breakfast was ample and good. My room had a small sitting room off of it, where I could see the Columbia River--beautiful. The owners were friendly and helpful, also very respectful of their guests' privacy.

I arrived in Astoria in the evening at the end of a long drive, and was hesitant at first. Bits of it seemed very run down. Some buildings were beautiful, others were abandoned. I also wasn't quite sure what to make of Rose River Inn, which seemed rather quirky. Others have commented on the number of notices pinned on everything,... More

This is our third year staying here. We love the River Suite that we stay in each time we have come. Some of the reasons that we stay here is how close to everything. The Fort George is just down 2 blocks, which has really great beer. We also like meeting all the different people from all over the world... More

This is a quaint B+B that met expectations. Locations is fantastic with several breweries and other restaurants nearby very close to the beautiful mouth of the Columbia. The garden is clearly loved and the results are fantastic. Breakfast is very nice, not unbelievable, but really pleasant. Our room had a pretty porch (2nd floor) with a lovely view of the... More

What a perfect setting in Astoria. We loved all the little touches that Pam & Dave provided. Our room was comfortable & inviting with a terrific view of the river. Breakfast was delicious! Homemade veggie frittata & fresh fruits, local yogurt. & fresh baked coffee cake. They totally made our stay in Astoria wonderful. Coffee is available very early for guests.... More

We spent a night here last month and really enjoyed it. Our trip got off to a rocky start and we were running late getting there. I kept Pam informed and she was very accommodating when we finally arrived. We stayed in the Rose Room and it was very comfortable with nice views. Breakfast was very good; it consisted of... More

There are a lot of good reviews for this B & B and I can understand why. The house is very nice, the garden is beautiful and location is fabulous. That being said, we’ve stayed at a number of bed and breakfasts/Inns and the Rose River Inn did not meet our expectations. We had the “Inspiration Room” on the top... More

We stayed in the Inspiration Suite. 650 square feet for 2 couples, very roomy and comfortable. 2 blocks from downtown. The Armstrongs were perfect hosts, with lots of useful information about Astoria, in addition to some first-hand knowledge of the colorful Flavel family, whose abandoned mansion is kitty-corner from Inn...
