A very well designed boutique hotel (every room has a good view) with great staff and well thought out room designs. We discovered the hotel by accident, spotting it from the road on the way to another hotel. Once we saw the other hotel we doubled back and checked out this hotel. It was well worth doubling back to. We... more

Arriving at 11pm on a Tuesday night, the Cannery Pier Hotel was a beacon of beauty along the Columbia River in Astoria, Oregon. Our arrival, although late in the evening, was greeted with a smile. The architecture and unique style of the hotel are beautiful, matched only by its great service and attention to detail by the staff. Having traveled... more

We spent one night here and really enjoyed the hotel. It was clean and well appointed. Our room overlooked the Columbia River and we loved watching the ships go by. It felt like we were on a house boat. You could sit in the tub, open the shutters and see the boats go by! The wine reception was well attended... more

Trapped on the Oregon coast, with an intense raging storm that tore off half of the lobby roof and took out the power for over half a week, the Cannery Pier was our savior. Their kind service, home made food brought in by family at times, good company in the Lobby by fireplace and flashlight light... These people are the... more

I rarely go to the same place twice because there are so many places to explore, however, I just left the Cannery Pier hotel for the second time. This small boutique hotel is a wonderful place that pays attention to detail. You can soak in a "feetie" bathtub and watch the boats go by out the window. They offer wine... more

So, I guess that makes this a 7,000 + word review? ;-) Not much to add to what's already been said about the Cannery Pier Hotel. Rooms are nicely appointed (but not luxurious), and large, including a nice sized sitting area, complete with a window seat overlooking the Columbia. Bathrooms are also big enough, and furnished with appropriate amenities/toiletries. But,... more

Our stay at the Cannery Pier Hotel was wonderful. We had the opportunity to experience many great places during our Oregon Coast getaway, and this was one of our favorites! The staff at the CPH went above and beyond to make our anniversary night special! We had complimentary champagne waiting in our room and rose petals (artificial but thoughtful) on... more

Very interestingly located out at the end of a Pier that provided dramatic views of the Columbia River emptying into the Pacific Ocean. We could wave at the crew of passing ocean liner ships. We wre given a comfortable king room for $180 night. Very modern furnishings, including a refrigerator and microwave complimented the room's unique angular design. Hotel offered... more

My wife and I stayed at the CPH after a few days of road travel and after saying at a few boutique hotels in Portland. The CPH is located in the water, recently built on a restored pier at the mouth of the Columbia River where salmon canneries historically processed fish. The location is truly unique; it is a bit... more

We just spent two nights in Astoria at the Cannery Pier Hotel and found it to be a real treat. The hosts are very gracious and helpful. It is very conveniently located and just the right size hotel for us. It is located on the water and all the rooms, including the lobby area, have wonderful views of the river,... more
