OK, the view is great and you sit right on the water, but it kind of ends there. The room was incredibly hot and the provided fan did little to help. No matter how nice the view is if you can't sleep in a hotel what good is it? The rooms need sprucing up and the desk staff could use... More

If I owned a hotel, I'd want it to be just like this one... soothing style/colors; incredible views on the water; good service; complementary wine, coffee, etc..; spa. Stay more than one night. I wish we'd had time - not this trip. Next one. Check out the Maritime Museum and the wonderful restaurant near the hotel - the Bridgewater Bistro.

Thought we'd start off our Oregon Coast trip here in Astoria, read about the Goonie house and the various films made here. Don't believe what you read, THE GOONIE HOUSE is off limits. The new owners don't want anyone near their house. Signs posted telling you to stay away and keep out, at first I thought it was a Gooniesque... More

All and all, Cannery Pier is a lovely hotel with mostly minor issues. Had a suite, at $400 per night, which is steep for what you get. It's on the small side for that price tag. Nicely appointed, comfortable bed, plush robes. It's really about the view here, with large panoramic windows. Curiously only one small pane opened, and the... More

Beautiful, clean, friendly staff. No complaints or problems. Did the afternoon wine tasting with cheese and smoked salmon, very nice. Had breakfast in morning including hard boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, pastries, cappuccino. Didn't have time for the spa but will plan ahead next time. Several comfy areas to sit and talk or watch the boats on the Columbia River. Rode... More

We visited the Cannery Pier Hotel for just one night in 2012 while traveling down the coast from Victoria. we were not at all familiar with CPH , but it sounded most unique and TA rated it well, and they happened to have a room available. We were quite impressed, and this trip we made it a point to spend... More

What a gorgeous place! The location is fantastic, rooms are beautifully decorated and have amazing views. The vintage car and driver was really special and made our meal at baked Alaska even better (along with the Sea lions!)Friendly staff and an amazing breakfast overlooking the river. Couldn't recommend this place enough-very special.

Picked this hotel the same day we stayed. We were on a 7 day motorcycle tour. We were two couples and stayed in the Penthouse. It is a two bedroom suite. Both bedrooms and the living room have fabulous views! It was great to see the boats and the occasional sea lion (even though they are considered a nuisance). The... More

The view of the mouth of the miles-wide river is awesome; five years ago, we had a room on the fourth floor and enjoyed the aerial perspective. This year we were on the first floor which offered an intimacy with the water. Hard to say which is better. We were quite pleased with the room and the service. Luggage trolleys... More

This hotel is the result of remarkable vision, evinced by both its on-the-dock location and its architecture, and it's well-worth your time to watch the short documentary, available on your room's t.v., about the planning and construction of this hotel. One enters the 3-story lobby and looks straight through huge windows opposite to the patio at the river's edge. And... More
