We stayed here over 30 years ago on a couples weekend and loved the location. The Hotel aged and we did not go back, until I saw it had new owners who were refurbishing the place, so we went back for another couples weekend. They are obviously working on bringing the place back, but it is not yet there. Fixtures... More

The room itself is good, bathroom also, the frontdoor could not be closed properly - felt unsafe. Breakfast can be skipped, coffee and tea blehhh, croissants tasted like plastic. The location is great. The owners should do something to make things better.

Thank you for your comment about the property needing a face lift. You are correct which is why we are starting a major rennovation begining in October, 2014. We are replacing the guest room locks with state of the art RFID technology and hardware, we are totally rennovating the lobby and upgrading 32 of the guest rooms (painting furnishings and... More

I read all the reviews and since there were new owners and LOW prices with pets I thought I'd give it a try. Great welcome at the desk, beautiful view and close to Safeway. A microwave and fridge saved us another dinner out. Huge king room nicely appointed, strong wifi, comfy bed. There's a nice patio area and apparently the... More

We were so fortunate to happen to stay here during their regatta festival weekend! We had room 11 and had a wonderful view of the water. We also got to see the fireworks that night from the shared patio that is just outside each ground floor! The place has yesteryear charm just the way we like it. The shore is... More

Amazing view you'd expect from a jillion-dollar-a-night resort. Clean, comfortable, no frills, no ills. We seemed to be the only ones there on a mid-week, high season night, making it even nicer. Took a horseback ride on the beach the next day; recommend that, as well.

My boyfriend, his parent's and I were traveling thru Astoria the other night. We stayed at the Crest and it was the best place we've stayed at so far. The view is spectacular, the price is right, and I especially loved visiting with the laundry girl and the front desk guy.

Heeding the dodgier reviews we booked a double queen with view. We weren't disappointed. Spotlessly clean, and quiet as long as you are away from the highway. And above all that view!! We even think we heard the sea lions. Other highlights - really fluffy towels, good coffee in the rooms and a simple but adequate continental breakfast. The place... More

Just realized this property has been sold and happy to see they are still fairly competitive with prices. We have stayed at the Crest Motel a few times before from a top floor river view room to an adorable, yet small corner room. Always a nice stay and great location. If you like crafted beer, be sure to check out... More

Based on reviews I asked for a second floor view room--clean, large enough--but not air conditioned. I had to leave the sliding door open for comfort. View was nice and river air cooled room just fine. Morning continental breakfast was adequate, but not varied. No problems with noise. Didn't even have to make a reservation. Staff said it's necessary on... More

We stayed for 2 nights after seeing good reviews and pictures online. Upon entering our room, it smelled like dirty feet and a dank swamp. Spiders and HUGE cobwebs were everywhere, including a nest in the bathtub. Linens were stained and every nook and cranny was dirty. We slept with only a sheet and our own pillows. The bathtub drain... More
