I found the hotel to be just like I read in the other reviews. But in case you haven't read the other reviews, here's a little breakdown from yours truly: Checkin: I arrived early (on a Monday) and was not expecting to check in early, but when I asked where I might be able to park, the guy at the... My husband and I stayed at the Norblad New Year's eve, and we really enjoyed it. We loved the wonderful original details, from the marble foyer to the original front desk and the huge windows in the rooms, and original hardware on the doors. The renovations have been nicely done and everything - bed, bedding and towels, the rooms and... More

We wanted a place within walking distance of Astoria's main street and Ft. George Brewery. After one unappealing night at the Lamplighter, we landed here. Our private room was simple, very clean (I think our room was brand new), and well-balanced between classic and modern. A fair value. I would definitely look forward to staying here again. It kind of... More

My wife and I stayed here this past summer and were looking to keep our budget down. We found the hotel after searching Tripadvisor and were very happy with our stay. There was no A/C and our room had a private bathroom, which is the only one there as most of the hotel is more of a hostel. The room... More

Loved everything about this place! Perect location, the bed was super comfortable. We walked to everthing we wanted to see. Great food and shops on every corner. You have to go eat at the Columbian, its part of a old theater. Then walk the boardwalk! I wish we had just one more day there.

Stayed one night in hotel part not the hostel. Had corner room with queen size bed and fold out couch. Reasonable room rates. Historic old hotel. Parking on street in downtown Astoria. Lobby on second floor. Sink in room must share separate shower and toilet. Everything was very clean. Cotton robes provided. Very helpful staff. Coffee shops, restaurants, bars and waterfront... I was in Astoria for a conference and decided to try the "Euro-style" hostel, and am glad I did. I have hosteled around Europe and found this place to be as nice as any place I have stayed. The recent remodeling, although not quite done, makes this a clean and convenient place to stay in the downtown area. The staff... More

This was my first experience with a hostel and I really didn`t know what to expect. WOW! Honestly, I`ve stayed at some high end hotels and none has EVER been as sparkling clean as this hostel. I was sure that the bathrooms were going to be a nightmare, with long lines, but I was so wrong. They were plentiful, immaculate,... More

I am so glad I've found the Norblad for my future trips to Astoria. It's super reasonable on price and the value can't be beat. Not to mention, I could live here! The historic building had been renovated and is super clean and tasteful on it's modern decor. A few of my favorite things... the HUGE windows in each room,... More
