Very affordable but nice hotel in downtown Astoria. Minimal amenities and certainly not the 4 seasons, but would recommend it for visiting Astoria. Not for a luxurious honeymoon stay, but certainly more than decent. Our rooms overlooked the Colombia.

This was our second of likely many stays at our go-to hotel at the best kept secret on the Coast. The Norblad is not so much a hostel, as a european style hotel with nicely appointed rooms and mostly communal bathrooms and showers (Corner suites have their own). This was a somewhat new concept to us but they are beautifully... More

My wife and I have stayed here twice and were very satisfied both times. It's a hostel, which means shared toilets and showers, but everything is clean and pleasantly decorated. Rooms have sinks and cable tv, and there is a community kitchen.

I had never stayed in a hostel and was very doubtful but our kids had stayed here and loved it. Everything else was booked up so we gave it a try and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised! It is basic accommodations but with everything you need and kind of a step back in time. It is... More

We were a walk-in and were lucky to get the last room. There were spaces in the dorms though so we wouldn't have been stuck because we don't mind either way. We got the Deluxe room for $90 and had heaps of space and comfort. It didn't have an ensuite but it did have a shelf sink so we could... More

Great atmosphere, almost Scandinavian feel to reception. All our individual room with own bathroom needed, was a ceiling fan in lieu of aircon. Friendly receptionist went to their sister hotel to fetch an iron when one was not available for us. Thanks

I booked a "cabin" room here to spend a couple nights in Astoria to escape the insufferable heat wave in Portland. Definitely a lot cooler outside in Astoria by about 20 degrees but the rooms in this hotel/hostel don't cool down much in the evening after warming up during the day and there is no air conditioning. Well, I suspect... More

This place has it all. Friendly service clean rooms, plenty of parking, centrally located to lots of places 2 shop & eat. There is a great food CO-OP that had the best nectarines i''ve had in years. Beds were soft, pillows were comfortable, 2 robes, gr8 pillows, quiet, & Oohh sssoooo nice. In my experience this is was better than... More

Yes this is a "Pet Friendly" place, however they have no outside property for pet potty time. Parking is street parking only, with many time restrictions. It is not handi-cap accessible with 3 flights of stairs just to get to the check-in desk and no elevator. I understand that the building is historic however the floors are very cold and... More

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. Let me point out a couple of things for you: We are a design-driven and budget-conscious hotel and hostel in the heart of the Downtown Astoria Historic District. We do not have a private park for your pet to use as a potty. We are an urban hideaway for savvy, price-conscious... More

This place is awesome!!! Typically we stay at Hilton Garden Inn properties, but my bucket list includes looking for other options. We got a private room for the night for $69. This was my boyfriends first stay in a hostel. I have only stayed in one, one time before. My first experience was great, so we gave this one a... More
