This is quite possibly the best hostel I have ever stayed in! We found it in a rush because we arrived late into Astoria and called ahead to a handful of hotels – all were full or WAY overpriced. We opted for Norblad based on some good reviews and the fact that it was super cheap and looked to be... More

Top notch hotel/hostel in downtown Astoria. Rooms were spotless with good wifi and cable tv, a nice comfy bed, terrycloth robes and sink. Bathrooms and showers down the hall were well-maintained and clean. Staff exceptional. Great downtown location across the street from a brewpub with good beer and food. Two caveats: although the room was really quiet, there is is... More

I had some reservations about staying at the Norblad based on several reviews, which rated it poorly. What a pleasant surprise! I was there two nights and would have stayed a third, if there was room. The Norblad was quiet, is centrally located, and had had an amazingly comfortable bed. Bathrooms and showers were clean and readily available. Lots of... More

The Norblad is a really cool hotel and hostel with an interesting history and excellent staff. It's located downtown in walking distance to pretty much anything I'd recommend checking out in Astoria. The inside is very clean, well-organized, and well-stocked. It's fresh and modern which was pleasant to experience. The only complaint I can think of was that the floors... More

We enjoyed Astoria so much because of it's beautiful surroundings and laid back, unpretentious romance of a port town. The Norblad Hotel and Hostel was neat, clean, and the rooms large and welcoming. I love the euro-style which just seem to fit the vibe of Astoria! The location was excellent for walking to the main strip and beyond. The only... More

Hotel Norblad is a recently renovated/rebuilt hotel/hostel that is both friendly and welcoming to people from all over the world. I've even met a filmstar there, he was lost in Astoria at night and found this hotel just like I did, stayed the night an shared stories with all us guests at the place. I was visiting Astoria and was... More

I enjoyed staying at Norblad a lot. Astoria is picturesque and this hotel is right downtown. It has a very minimalist, european feel. The bedding was surprisingly nice and luxurious in the private room.

The Norblad is part hotel, part hostel and part long-term residence rooms (which I have). The owners are putting a lot of effort into renovations and it shows. No one becomes a resident without an extensive background check. Good people, friendly staff and three blocks from the Riverwalk, where the early morning fog hangs lightly over the mighty Columbia.

I told a friend I was staying here, and he said "DON'T", but when I called, the girl on the phone (I believe her name was Hannah) was so enthusiastic, I decided to at least look at the rooms. What a pleasant surprise! The European style hotel rooms (with shared bathroom) were just beautiful, newly remodeled, and classically furnished with... More

Great location here! Located just a block off of 101 Northbound. Right next to Fort George brewery and Blue Scorcher bakery. From the entrance of the hotel you can see the Commodor Hotel just a block over. We stayed in a deluxe cabin on the corner of the building. Simple room but very clean. The shared toilet area and the... More
