The Good: Was able to check-in early. Did not have much staff contact. The room was nice, clean, and quite. Sized nicely. The internet worked great. (Wasn't slow) The location is close to the interstate/main road. The Bad: The TV did not have LOCAL channels on it. (ABC,CBS,NBC NOT even PBS!). Only national channels. No pool or free breakfast. No... more

The rooms were decently appointed, very clean, very safe, included wireless and I loved having everything I needed to make my own meals. The small gym was a bonus and there was something very good-natured about their quirky store and friendly and helpful (though limited) staff. And I loved the fact that the room was not made up daily, which... more

A friend and I stayed in this hotel when we were in Jacksonville for a concert. I always agonize over choosing the wrong hotel so I spent a lot of time looking around for the right one. I settled on Candlewood because it was in a good part of town, offered smoking rooms, was affordable (I believe I paid $70... more

My husband and I stayed in Jacksonville one night last week for a business obligation. After reading the reviews here, and scoring a $59 / night, we booked at the Candlewood. The room was quite clean and orderly. As promised, there was an apartment feel to the room; we enjoyed the free popcorn. We were also greeted as Priority Club... more

The rooms were the size of a typical hotel room. However, someone could live here because it is design like a studio apartment. The room had a full size refrigerator, full, sink, dishwasher, and a two grill stove top. The bathroom was decent sized and had nice plush towels. The water pressure was good and the shower had a curved... more

First of all I can vouch for the positive comments in the other reviews regarding staff friendliness and hotel cleanliness. We chose this hotel because we have been traveling to the Mayo Clinic on a regular basis and needed a more affordable extended-stay option to the hotels that are closest to the hospital. This hotel is 8 miles away, but... more

I was very impressed with all the little extras they had. Enough cooking utensils for meals. Had a garbage disposal, dishwasher (with detergent included) and free laundry facilities. Bed was extremely comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing really fancy but for the price and extras was a very good value. Very quiet hotel. Good for families and business... more

Very clean, very quiet, very comfortable, nice size room. Restaurants are a little ways away -- try going east on 202, get off at first exit north. There's an Indian place that's good in the area of the first traffic light on that road. DON'T stay at the Best Western. -- rg more

This place was FANTASTIC! It is in a secluded area and has very little noise/traffic. I would stay there again without any problem. The staff was very nice and the room was EXCELLENT! more

I have stayed in both the Candlewood Suites and the Holiday Inn Express. They are both from the same hotel chain, but for nice rooms with the option to cook, Candlewood Suites are very well suited for the business traveler. The room was very clean, bathroom and kitchenette as well. The frig was also perfectly clean. Sometimes you are unpleasantly... more
