I stayed at the Howard Johnson Inn with two other people just for one night. I was going to a concert in Jacksonville which ended late at night and I didn't think it would be safe to drive 5 hours home overnight so I figured that any hotel would do since we'd just be sleeping there. I've been coming to Jacksonville almost on a monthly basis. I've stayed at the Howard Johnson the last couple times and this time I got a pleasant surprise. They upgraded their furniture over the Christmas holidays. It was a very nice touch (and the price didn't increase either!). I will definitely be coming back here and I recommend this hotel... more

We stayed here twice in November 2007 and it is ok if you are looking for a cheap room and can't find anything else. The location isn't bad but it is not convenient to get to from I-95. Hotel is located near the the city and is easiliy accessable by the monorail which is a short walk. Also located near the access to the highways getting around by car is a breeze. The hotel was in good condition with clean rooms and complimentary internet for the business traveller. Complimentart breakfast in the morning was also a great start.... more

Stayed for ACC championship football weekend Friday and Sat. First room sent to had been used (possibly without staff knowledge). Dirty washcloth in shower and water in ice bucket. Bed was made though and non-smoking room smelled bad. Second room was clean and smelled better, but had defective door lock; staff was able to resolve after 30 min. of work.... more
