I hate spending big bucks to stay at a high-end hotel that gives you little more than a place to sleep in return for an inflated room rate. So when I planned a trip to Jacksonville to attend a nursing conference, I found this lovely B&B less than 3 miles from the conference hotel. The room rate with internet booking... more

As a long time B&B lodger, I've seen my fair share. I can say without reservation that this is the best B&B in which I've ever had the pleasure of resting my head. From the ornate front door down to the spacious and stately rooms, my stay was a treat. The breakfast was delicious and the staff extremely cordial. The... more

Was visiting family in Jacksonville and wanted to give myself (and them) a break after sleeping on their couch for three days. After viewing the site of the Inn at Oak Street in Jacksonville's Five Points neighborhood, I booked for two nights. I was absolutely delighted by the experience and recommend it highly. I have traveled extensively throughout the US... more

Nice place to stay. Staff is very friendly. The rooms are great and the beds are very comfortable. Air conditioned rooms---fantastic!Food is great. I would not rely on it for spa services, however. I tried to book services 2 weeks in advance and they could not accomodate. Apparantly they do not have adequate people to staff the spa. They have... more

Very small rooms No elevator No one onsite late at night. A collegue got locked out of his room and it took 4 hours to get someone to respond Depending on the room location, you may share a wall with the dining room, open window and look at people sitting in the patio Lady providing wake up calls goes to... more

My wife and I were impressed with the Inn at Oak Street, especially the genuine hospitality, the catered, private dinner, and the hot stone massage they arranged was superb.--Kudos to one and all! Breakfasts were very hearty and delicious. We would recommend this inn or those seeking a romantic getaway within easy walking distance of the river-front, the impressive Commer... more

The bed was uncomfortable-it sagged. The windows in the room looked out upon constructuion debris outside the window. The porch that was attached to the room looked more like part of the fire escape. There was no wine/cheese served. The Temperatures in the room was either hot or cold no way of adjusting it ourselves. The morning breakfast was a... more

This was our third ++ time staying at the Inn. We were pampered with a wonderful room, sincere interest in our comfort, fantastic food, a really great location, near restaurants and any other Jacksonville destination. We will go back soon. more

Just got back from a brief stay of only one night at the Inn at Oak St. We were a little hesitant after reading the previous review. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The staff was superb - allowing us in as soon as the room was ready, gave us many ideas of things to do in the area, even called... more

The home is beautifully restored and the employees really care. However the owners are no longer there because they are in a messy breakup - results: aplace that needs an owners touch. The evening reception is no longer. The food at breakfast is average. The little touches that make a B & B great are gone. The heating and air... more
