My husband and I were thrilled when we contacted the owner of The Dickert House and she agreed to host our Family BBQ and Wedding (she is a notary and also married us). We met several times and she was so encouraging and personable.
The first problem was that the Honeymoon Suite bathroom had not been cleaned! Also, the previous guest, who stays for long periods, left his shoes and clothes out. I know he was going to stay again after we left, but it didn't feel like OUR room.
When the time came for our BBQ, we were suddenly told the week before that there was an additional $500 for the rental of the space (even though my family had booked every single room for two nights and we paid $800 for the food, not including alcohol). Then when the party got underway, there were no cups and no lemonade and tea, as had been arranged. I had to send a guest for cups 45 minutes into the party, very disappointing.
