Staying at this lovely house was a real treat in so many ways. It was very comfortable, like being at home, and it was well-located -- easy to access all of the places of historic interest, as well as the Culinary Institute of America. The best part of the visit was our time spent talking with Patsy Costello, who knew... More

Patsy was a very nice host. She was very friendly and was happy to share her knowledge and experience with the FDR family. She also recommended great places for food. The room we stay in was cozy and quiet, which was perfect for a weekend away from NYC. Hyde park is fantastic getaway destination for history lovers.

I've enjoyed this home-away-from-home twice while visiting Hyde Park. The two rental rooms are decorated simply and are very clean and well supplied. A small connecting bonus room serves both with a comfy chair, good lightening, refrigerator, and good-sized desk. Mrs. Costello chats with guests, giving good dining suggestions, and lots of welcome history of the area. The Guest House... More

Patsy Costello is a Roosevelt historian--she knows all the secrets that books don't tell you. Her guest house is clean and pleasant but the real treasure is Patsy herself. So if you want an educated chat about FDR et al., Costello's is the place to stay.

We rented both rooms in Patsy's guest house. They were very comfortable. The location was perfect for attending parents weekend at a local college. The house was built in the 1800s and is nicely kept and very clean. We loved taking with Patsy about Hyde Park and the Roosevelt's. She is a wealth of knowledge and quite a woman herself.... More

Patsy offers two bedrooms in her cozy home as well as a wealth of information and tips about everything Roosevelt. She really can help with all you need to know about the area, whether it be history-related or restaurants or ... Though breakfast is not included, there is a really quaint place within walking distance. Her guest house is perfectly... More

My husband stayed in the nautical room at Costello's Guest House last week while taking a class at the Omega Institute near Rhinebeck. The Guest House is only 11 miles from Omega, and it was a more reasonable and very comfortable alternative to Omega campus housing options. There is a small fridge available for guests to use in a sitting/study... More

Stayed at one of the rooms at Costello's guest house last week. The guest house is well kept - nice clean rooms and bathroom. Patsy was a wonderful host. She gave us a bit of history of the house and also of Hyde Park. Wonderful lady. Why not a 5-star? There were very minor reasons: 1) The AC wall unit... More

If you want to experience the hospitality of Hyde Park and be close to everything, stay here. It was like being at home. Our hostess was very gracious and she is an historian in her own right. A top recommendatiion!

My husband and I just returned from a two day stay at Costello's Guest House in Hyde Park, and are looking forward to going back. We stayed in the Nautical room (lovely decor!) and enjoyed the sitting room as well, with a comfortable place to read, a handy refrigerator, and a corkscrew! The price was very reasonable and it was... More
