If you are visiting Hyde Park, you could not go wrong with this charming and comfortable bed and breakfast. Valerie and her family are wonderful and interesting hosts, rooms and facilities are excellent, and breakfast is a real treat. And walk across the street to the Vanderbilt Mansion. A perfect spot.

We are mid-sixties, usually seek out good hotels, but very glad we tried this one for two nights. Great place to stay for visits to Culinary institute, Roosevelt home, Vanderbilt home, or even Rhinebeck, which is just 10 minutes up Route 9. Valerie and Eric were great hosts, very friendly, available and concerned, but not intrusive. They made good suggestions... More

We've stayed here 3 times now. Twice when Eric & Valerie were owners and once with the previous owners. All three times have been delightful. Valerie gives great recommendations for places to go and restaurants. The house is nice and generally quiet. We love the mid century modern bathrooms -- reminds us of our homes growing up! My preference would... More

Eric and Val were on site to welcome us into their home and explain the logistics during our stay. Their home is beautiful and we loved the different themes. Breakfast was phenomenal :) I hope you enjoi your visit as much as we did!

Charming B+B with stairs! But friendly, helpful hosts who gave us great suggestions for restaurants in nearby Rhinebeck. Wonderful breakfasts. Perfect location for visiting the Vanderbilt Mansion and the FDR home and presidential library. We'd heartily recommend this one. Stayed in the Tuscany room

The visit was fabulous. The home was so inviting. The inn keepers were so happy and interesting. The suite was just like being at my Grandmothers again (really good thing!!). The food was delicious. I cannot say enough good things about our visit and accommodations. Can't wait to return!

In general, we were very happy at this B&B. There are pros and cons for our 4 night stay. Pros: Valerie and Eric are warm, friendly, helpful and make you feel you are visiting friends; Restaurant suggestions and info about places to go are spot on; Valerie's homemade cookies and the coffee and chocolates available all day; Inviting public rooms... Thank you for your thoughtful review. We are pleased you took advantage of our outside sitting area for happy hour each evening - it make us happy when our guests enjoy our common areas. My first visit to Hyde Park and Journey Inn exceeded expectations. Innkeepers, Valerie and Eric are perfect hosts--friendly, attentive, and helpful. The rooms are individually themed, beautifully appointed, and comfortable and the common areas spacious and inviting. Breakfast gets a 5-star review from me and enjoying it family style around the dining room table gave me an opportunity to meet... More

The best part of The Journey Inn is the hosts--it was like staying with good friends. The Inn, however, was not quite as great as they are. Don't get me wrong--it is good--really a three and one half star establishment. And, yes, it is GOOD. Unfortunately, most people nowadays equate "good" with "awesome" and "epic" instead of what something really... More
